Artykuł omawia służbę informacyjną jako jedno z głównych zadań Wojewódzkiej i Miejskiej Biblioteki Publicznej w Gorzowie Wielkopolskim. Od początku swego istnienia, tj. od 1992 r., jej pracownicy w zestawieniach statystycznych porządkują i sumują liczbę udzielonych informacji: bibliotecznych, bibliograficznych i rzeczowych. Taką działalnością objęte są wszystkie działy, agendy i filie. Należy jednak podkreślić, że w książnicy powstały odrębne centra informacyjne, charakteryzujące się obiegiem, transferem i obecnością wyspecjalizowanych tematycznie informacji. Odwiedzający te działy użytkownicy poszukują i z dobrym skutkiem otrzymują pełne wiadomości na temat regionu, turystyki, Unii Europejskiej, Francji, Stanów Zjednoczonych, mniejszości narodowych, biznesu i gospodarki. Procesy zmieniające oblicze biblioteki, jak komputeryzacja, e-zbiory, dostęp do Internetu, katalog OPAC czy strony WWW, przyczyniły się niewątpliwie do otwarcia i poszerzenia oferty informacyjnej i potrzeb społeczeństwa nowej generacji. Gorzowska książnica jest przykładem sprawnie działającej biblioteki hybrydowej, gdzie obok papierowych źródeł informacji dostępne są źródła elektroniczne. Taki sposób organizacji poszerza formy działalności informacyjnej, skierowanej do wszystkich jej użytkowników, stając się miejscem przyjaznym i wspomagającym w poszukiwaniu i udzielaniu informacji o szerokim spektrum zainteresowania.

The article discusses the information service as one of the foremost tasks of the Provincial and Municipal Public Library in Gorzów Wielkopolski (WiMBP). Since its inception (1992), its employees in their statistical reports present the amount of information provided to the users. Information-related activities are covered by all departments, agencies and branches of the library. It should be noted, however, that separate information centres have been created in WiMBP, characterized by the transfer and presence of specialized thematic information. Visitors to these departments receive good quality information on the region, tourism, the European Union, France, the United States of America, minorities, business and economy. Processes changing the image of the library such as computerization, e-collections, OPAC, the website, have contributed to its opening to the needs of a new generation. WiMBP in Gorzów Wielkopolski is an example of an efficient hybrid library where next to traditional paper resources digital collections and electronic resources are available. In this way, the library widens its information scope to reach readers of all ages.

A rapid development oh plant protection methods in 1940–1950 led to a risk of massive and uncontrolled use of them. In Poland the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute in Poznań established in 1957 is the main research centre for Studies on protection of agricultural crops. Considering the integrated plant protection (IPP), one of the most important elements, it is agrophages’ monitoring to determine optimal timing for performance of chemical treatments in order to reduce their numbers. decision making supportive systems and their development are of a special value for improvement for plant protection programmes. In order to ensure a proper development of agrophages’ forecasting and warning methods the following requirements should be fulfilled: – development of studies on the research bases of agrophages’ forecasting and warning systems, – expantion of the network of meteorological stations, – expantion of the Internet service – „Agrophages Warming System”, „Potato late blight”, – adapting the systems (DSS) developed in other countries to Polish conditions, – expantion of the network of Johnson’s aspirators and volumetric spore traps.
