This article presents structure and analysis of possible events for information security of a production company. The aim of the analysis is to identify incident events, their time and frequency. The analysis includes occurrence of notifications, threatening events, employee errors and false alarms. Also, the conducted research takes into account the functions performed in the enterprise. For these events, a daily distribution of events and statistical analysis of their occurrence were developed. Thanks to the analysis of the phenomena in time, enterprises can introduce actions preventing the occurrence of incidents. The conducted research has shown that employees report incidents which, in their opinion, constitute an incident, which greatly facilitates the work of the information security administrator. These events are analyzed and classified accordingly. The analysis showed that most events take place between midnight and two in the morning. The conducted analysis is a pilot study carried out in one large enterprise in the metallurgical industry.

Safety in aviation has various connotations. According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), it is a state in which the possibility of harm to people and property is minimised and maintained within a continuous process of identifying threats and managing safety risks at an acceptable level or below an acceptable level. Actions related to threat identification can be reactive, proactive, or predictive. Reactive actions aim to verify what happened, why, and how to prevent it from recurring. For this purpose, incidents that occurred in the past are analysed. By Polish law, the Commission for Investigating Aviation Accidents investigates accidents and serious incidents, while incidents mostly fall under the responsibility of the aviation organisation in which the incident occurred. Therefore, this article aims to identify threats causing incidents. Three thousand two hundred aviation incidents reported between 2017 and 2022 to the Civil Aviation Office as part of the mandatory and voluntary event reporting system were analysed. The identified causes, due to the diversity of their description, were divided into four groups. The first group consists of human factors, representing inadequate actions by pilots, crews, or individuals who caused a situation of danger. The second group comprises errors in the operation of technical objects, including aircraft. This group also includes situations where foreign objects violate airspace or minimum conditions are breached. The next group includes environmental causes such as wild animals, birds, and weather conditions. The last group consists of procedures related to flight phases.

The aim of this study is to identify cutting-edge studies on the phenomenon of leadership applied to police work, especially in critical contexts, based on an integrative literature review. The integrative review made it possible to survey publications on the subject in the Scopus, Web of Science, Ebsco Host, ScienceDirect, Core, and SciELO databases. Scientific mapping is complemented with the use of VOSviewer and Google Trends tools. The integrative review resulted in 15 studies that fit the research strategy, bringing different leadership approaches, such as instrumental, transformational, charismatic, consultative, ethical, authentic, military, destructive, and laissez-faire, through qualitative and/or quantitative studies. For bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer, the research corpus was expanded to 63 articles, admitting documents that studied leadership with firefighters, military personnel, and police officers. The analysis showed almost no co-authorship link between the 129 authors. The co-occurrence analysis of keywords reveals that leadership strongly links with law enforcement, police, management, crisis management, emergency management, and decision-making, establishing a close relationship between these concepts and a semantic map that underlies the field of study. The analysis of trends by Google Trends in the science category indicates the stability of interest in the topic of leadership in the world. However, the theme of police leadership produced results close to zero. The findings reveal that few studies address leadership in police organisations, and even fewer if critical, dangerous contexts are examined. The trends analysed indicate that worldwide scientific interest in the subject remains low and the theme must be further explored.

The current state of the art and dedicated applications in Early Warning Systems (EWS) of hydrological and meteorological threats are presented herein. Special emphasis is placed on systems based on the post-processing of deterministic numerical weather forecasts in the real-time mode. The importance of climate and weather forecasting models in providing warnings against slow and rapid onset rates e.g. drought and dispersion of atmospheric pollutants respectively, is discussed. It is strongly suggested that there is a need for systems, corresponding to crisis situations in the field of environmental hazards and/or human activities in general, that would be able to provide support and information about further possible scenarios with a projected state of both the environment and the possibility of the negative impact of various factors on the population (human communities). Since there are highly developed plans for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Poland, there is an urgent need to prepare adequate tools that will help avoid crisis situations, or at least to minimize their negative effects. The Early Warning System should be considered one such tool, to be used not only for its economic benefits, but also for pro-social areas of services responsible for the appropriate reaction to crisis events.

The article presents the solution for improvement of oil spill fighting with utilization of synthetic aperture radar. The way of identification is presented as well as the treatment of obtained data in order to eliminated “looks like” objects. Such system will widely improve the oil spill fighting at a very early stage of incident.

The current state of knowledge and the latest trends and examples of decision support systems (DSSs) are presented in this paper. Special emphasis was placed on a DSS proposal based on post-processed numerical weather forecasts operating in a real time. There is an essential need for decision support systems that can react to any incidents – including those that pose a risk to the natural environment or human activity in general. For this purpose an exemplary system has been prepared, which was – from its conception to implementation – the original idea of the author. The system enables communication with the user via a graphical user interface that controls the operation of the program, the course of the algorithm and the data flow. The system is modular, allowing the connection of other applications to carry out the work of a DSS. A basic view of the operating window and working panels have been designed for proper demonstration of various types of information and visualizations – the substantial products and results of the system. Further research in the field of DSS of this kind should be the implementation within the RIOT system of mechanisms of notification and response to crisis events related to extreme weather phenomena (whirlwinds, intensive rains, strong frosts or heats).

Road reference system is composed of properly described nodes and links. Data are assigned to particular points of links which may be identified even after change of road itinerary.

The aim of this paper is to present the essence of eff ective management to recall unsafe food. The implementation of the development is refl ected in its individual parts. Legal requirements oblige companies to take immediate action when an available product poses a threat to the consumer’s health or life. These actions imply blocking of a suspicious batch or a possible product recall, as well as eff ective communication with supervisory authorities and consumers, if a product has already been available to them. The scope of these regulations is scrupulously listed in private safety standards and food quality, such as BRC, IFS, or in an international norm ISO 22000. The article emphasized the importance of the traceability system to ensure eff ective recall, also analysed the results of the research into the causes and evaluated the eff ectiveness of the food recall.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie istoty skutecznego zarządzania wycofaniem żywności niebezpiecznej z rynku. Realizacja celu opracowania znajduje swoje odzwierciedlenie w jego poszczególnych częściach. Wymagania prawne obligują przedsiębiorstwa do podjęcia natychmiastowych działań, gdy tylko się okaże, że produkt dostępny na rynku może zagrażać zdrowiu lub życiu konsumentów. Działania te są związane z zablokowaniem podejrzanej partii, ewentualnie z wycofaniem wyrobu z rynku i skutecznym poinformowaniem organów nadzoru oraz samych klientów, jeśli wyrób trafi ł już na półki sklepowe. Obszar tych wymagań jest bardzo szczegółowo uregulowany w prywatnych standardach zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa i jakości żywności, takich jak np. BRC, IFS czy w międzynarodowej normie ISO 22000. W artykule zaakcentowano znaczenie systemu identyfi kowalności dla zapewnienia skutecznego wycofania, a ponadto przeanalizowano wyniki badań empirycznych w zakresie przyczyn i oceny skuteczności wycofań żywności z rynku
