We test the stability of the mean field solution in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model in a semi-quantitative manner. For stable solutions with respect to both the σ and π directions, we investigate effects of the mesonic loop corrections of 1/N c, which correspond to the next-to-leading order in the 1/N c expansion, on the high density chiral phase transition. The corrections weaken the first order phase transition and shift the critical chemical potential to a lower value. At N c = 3, however, instability of the mean field effective potential prevents us from determining the minimum of the corrected one.

There is a continuous demand for high performance composite propellant formulations to meet future requirements. The performance of composite propellant formulations can be enhanced by the addition of energetic oxidizers, like ADN/HNF as well as an energetic binder & a plasticizer. However, on incorporation of energetic ingredients, the composition becomes sensitive, and thus processing, handling and transportation pose a greater threat. Therefore, a moderately high burn rate composition having a burn rate ~ 13-14 mmźs -1 at 7000 kPa was tailored by increasing the solid loading of the propellant from 85.15% to 87.27% with the help of ammonium perchlorate and process aids without affecting the burn rate and mechanical properties. The tailored composition was studied for different properties such as end of mix viscosity, density, mechanical & ballistic properties. The evaluated data reveal that the end of mix viscosity of the tailored composition is higher than the base composition, i.e., 672 Paźs and 2340 Paźs at the same temperature; however, this viscosity was castable using a pressure casting technique. The properties of the cured propellant reveal that there is an enhancement of density from 1.74 gźcm -3 to 1.79 gźcm -3 with no other changes in mechanical properties. The performance index of the tailored composition has been increased from 416 to 437, well supported by results of ballistic evaluation motors of 2 kg.

Growing the sweet cherry on different vigor rootstocks, such as Colt and Gisela 5, in a high-density orchard, causes differences in growth and productivity and later imposes the need to change the growing system including pruning, flower and fruit thinning, irrigation and fertilization. In the present research, four sweet cherry cultivars (Summit, Kordia, Lapins and Regina) grafted on Colt and Gisela 5 rootstocks were assessed for morphological traits and productivity. The parameters investigated were: vegetative growth, bearing potential, fruit set, precocity, productivity, fruit growth habit and quality attributes. Compared to Colt, the trees on Gisela 5 had smaller TCSA and the length of two-year-old branches, in the fifth season after planting. Trees on Gisela 5 had a higher number of flower buds per may bouquet compared to Colt, which confirms that bearing potential is highly affected by the rootstock. Growing the sweet cherries on Gisela 5 induced a higher fruit setting in all cultivars except in Kordia. Fruit physical attributes were affected by the cultivar, growing system and experimental year. For all tested cultivars, the yield per tree was significantly lower on Colt compared to Gisela 5. Gisela 5 performed better than Colt, which suggests that Gisela 5 should be used as a rootstock in high density sweet cherry production systems.

A study was carried out of shoot growth and branching, fruit bud setting and fruiting in four sour cherry cultivars: 'Debreceni Botermo', 'Nefris', 'Schatten- morelle' and 'Serocka'. Trees were planted at a high density (4 x 1.5 m), trained with a leader and pruned with the renewal method. A relationship was shown to exist be­tween shoot length and fruit bud setting density. Trees of 'Debreceni Botermo' were found to be the most vigorous, setting fruit buds on weak shoots and two-year-old spurs. 'Nefris' and ' Serocka' were medium in vigour, setting fruit buds mostly on one-year-old shoots irrespective of shoot length. They were characterized by heavy branching. 'Schattenmorelle' trees were small, slowly growing, setting fruit buds on one-year-old shoots with only one terminal leaf bud. This type of fruiting led to bare wood. Pruning appropriate to tree morphology is suggested.

Badano strukturę koron, intensywność wzrostu pędów i ich rozgałęzianie się, gę­stość osadzenia pąków kwiatowych, obfitość kwitnienia i owocowania czterech od­mian wiśni: 'Debreceni Botermo', 'Nefris', 'Łutówka' i 'Serocka' w gęsto posadzo­nym sadzie w rozstawie 4 x 1,5 m, ciętym metodą odnawiającą. Stwierdzono inten­sywny wzrost drzew odmiany 'Debreceni Botermo', umiarkowany 'Nefris' i 'Seroc­ka' oraz bardzo słaby 'Łutówka'. Wykazano związek między długością przyrostów rocznych, a gęstością osadzenia pąków kwiatowych u odmian 'Debreceni Botermo' i 'Łutówka'. Słaba zdolność 'Debreceni Botermo' do zawiązywania pąków kwiato­wych na długich przyrostach może opóźniać owocowanie tej odmiany, jeśli drzewa rosną silnie. Bardzo słaby z natury wzrost drzew odmiany 'Łutówka' i brak pąków liściowych na przyrostach rocznych utrudnia formowanie koron, powoduje ogałacanie się gałęzi i nie dorastanie drzew do wymaganych parametrów. Zalecane jest inten­sywne cięcia odnawiające drzew badanych odmian.

Opracowano konstrukcje czterech typów polskich pras pulsacyjnych do wyrobów z materiałów sypkich. Pierwszą jest prasa PXP 1.00 o wydajności do 15 sztuk wyrobów na minutę, przeznaczona do prasowania części maszyn o wysokiej gęstości. Kolejne dwie prasy, to: PXP-M 1.00 z układem polaryzującym do magnesów trwałych anizotropowych i PXP-T 1.00 z układem grzewczym do kształtek narzędziowych oraz prasa PXP-I 1.00 do izostatycznego kształtowania elementów ślizgowych. Prasy są wyposażane w układ mikroprocesorowego sterowania i nadawana jest im nowoczesna forma wzornicza.

This paper shows results of construction development four type of polish pulsatory presses for loose materials products. The first one PXP 1.00 press has efficiency to fifteen specimen per minute, and could be used for pressing of high density machine parts. Two next presses are: PXP-M 1.00 with polarization system for permanent anisotropy magnet and PXP-T 1.00 with heating system for swagger tools. The last one type is PXP-I 1.00 press for isostatic forming slide elements. All of these presses are equipped with microprocessor operation system and possess modem designee.
