The study presents the concept of control and visualisation of the operation of exemplary industrial processes with the application of SCADA system. SCADA systems and applications in various fields of economy were reviewed. Applications that perform the assumed visualisation, alarm, archive and protection objectives were proposed. The designs were prepared in Vijeo Citect environments. Due to diversity and versatility of the selected systems, the completed applications may easily be implemented in many actual locations irrespective of the pre-existing control systems.

Majority of the superheater headers used in Polish power plants as well as heat and power-generating plants have already worked for over 100 thousand hours. A superheater is one of the most important elements of a boiler. They have operated at a temperature of about 500-550 degrees centigrade and pressure of 10-18 MPa. The paper presents some results of the X20CrMoV121 steels microstructure and properties investigations after long term service of superheater headers of 360 and 500MW blocks.

Większość eksploatowanych w polskich elektrowniach i elektrociepłowniach komór przegrzewaczy pary przepracowała już ponad 100 tysięcy godzin. Przegrzewacz jest jednym z ważniejszych elementów kotła parowego. Eksploatowany jest w zakresie temperatur 500-550 stopni Celsjusza, przy ciśnieniu od 10 do 18 MPa. W artykule przedstawiono przykładowe wyniki badań mikrostruktury i własności mechanicznych materiału komory wykonanej ze stali X20CrMoV121 po długotrwałej eksploatacji.
