W artykule przedstawiono projekt specjalistycznego uchwytu do transportu drewna tartacznego w postaci dłużyc czy kłód. Konstrukcję uchwytu przeznaczono do zainstalowania na ładowarce. Obliczenia analityczne wsparto modelowaniem bryłowym i analizą MES.

The paper presents the design of specialized grip for transportation of sawmill wood in the form of logs and logs. The construction of the handle was designed to be installed on the loader. Analytical calculations were supported solid modeling and static analysis FEM.

Police dogs handlers’ and trainers’ opinions on Labrador retrievers (n=87) and German shepherds (n=96) trained for drugs vs. explosives detection have been compared. As most important traits in both specialties the responders indicated: (1) willingness to sniff objects, (2) concentration (focusing) ability, (3) acuity of smell and (4) willingness to bring an object back to a person. Only trainers but not handlers rated boldness in novel surroundings, and fear of specific things and of sudden loud noises, high in importance. Taking all traits together 43.7% and 44.4% of dogs showed an “ideal” level of the traits according to handlers’ and trainers’ opinion, respectively. Correlations coefficients between handlers’ and trainers’ ratings for the traits of real dogs did not exceed r = 0.33. Significant breed and specialty differences were found for the percentage of dogs that demonstrated too low,too high and “ideal” levels of the trait. Both handlers and trainers were consistent in their opinion that Labrador retrievers as service dogs of both specialties are too highly motivated to obtain food (P<0.05) and as drug detection dogs are overly friendly to people (P<0.01). The overall satisfaction rate did not differ significantly between breeds, specialties and sexes. This report shows a rather low consistency of opinions of dog trainers with those of dog handlers as to 28 behavioral and physical traits of drug and explosives detection dogs of both breeds and reveals no special preference for either breed in performing narcotics or explosives detection.

В статье сопоставляются теории защитников прав животных, т. е. политическая теория прав животных Сью Дональдсон и Уилла Кимлики, авторов Зоополиса, с практиками, используемыми в кинологическом спорте, и с методами работы со служебными собаками. Автор статьи анализирует отдельные постулаты Дональдсон и Кимлики и представляет, как защитники прав животных и любители кинологического спорта подходят к теме нового гражданства. Выводы анализа как будто исключают возможность сосуществования взглядов этих двух групп на домашних животных.

In the article, the author attempts at juxtaposing a theory of animal rights defenders – primarily the political theory of animal rights put forward by the authors of Zoopolis, Sue Donaldson and Will Kymlicka – with the practices in the field of dog sports and the methods of working with service dogs. She analyses Donaldson and Kymicka’s particular postulates and presents ways in which both the animal rights advocates and dog sports afficionados approach the subject of new citizenship. Her conclusions seem to suggest that those two groups hold rather contradictory views on domesticated animals.

Czy potrzebujemy dialogu między sportowcami, obrońcami prawa i jego twórcami?” autorka stara się zestawić ze sobą teorie obrońców praw zwierząt, przede wszystkim propozycję autorów Zoopolis. Ową teorię polityczną praw zwierząt konfrontuje z praktykami z dziedziny sportów kynologicznych oraz sposobami pracy z psami służbowymi. Analizując poszczególne wyznaczniki zaproponowane przez Donaldson i Kylmick autorka przedstawia sposoby podejścia do tematu nowego obywatelstwa obrońców praw zwierząt oraz miłośników kynologii, a także dokonuje analizy porównawczej, która zdaje się wykluczać możliwość istnienia obok siebie tych dwóch kierunków myślenia o zwierzętach udomowionych.
