W pracy przedstawiono teoretyczne i metodyczne podstawy nowej metody programowania rozwoju zasobów leśnych w przerębowo-zrębowym sposobie zagospodarowania z rębnią częściową. Istotą tej metody jest wybór takiego kierunku rozwoju zasobów leśnych w najbliższym 10-leciu, który zapewni trwały i zrównoważony rozwój omawianego rodzaju gospodarstwa.

The theoretical and methodical basis of a new method of programming the development of forest resources in selection-cutting system of forest management with partial cutting is discussed in the work. The basis of the new method is the vield of cleaning and regeneration [6] The properties of the cutting volume show that only even-aged stands without the regeneration layer (group B) are subjected to the process of regulating the capability of prescribed cutting. The essence оf the new programming method is the determination of the preferable direction of developing forest resources in a site-type working class in the nearest 10-year period of management. This direction was chosen basing on the conception of the biological developmental norm [2]. The definition of the norm is given and then it is ascertained that the developmental norm indicates a determined range of the process of forest development while its constant controlled upsetting permits I о maintain a stable and balanced development of forest resources. Then, the procedure was presented of designing the program of forest resources development of the given site-type working class in the discussed method of forest management. The procedure consists in selecting the preferable direction of development of forest resources and determining the volume of regeneration cutting for even-aged stands without a regeneration layer (group B), the volume of cleaning cutting for even-aged stands with a regeneration layer (group A), the length of the regeneration and cleaning periods, and the total volume of final cutting for stands of groups A and B, i.e. for the entire selection-cutting working class with the partial cutting. Original formulae of computing the cutting volume from the regeneration period are proposed in the aspect of surface and volume (formulae No 1 and 2) and also a formula of determining the expected results оf accepting a random magnitude of the so calculated cutting volume in the form of changes of the mean age (formula No 3). Then, it was assessed that the stability of the site-type working class would be ensured only in the case of the least difference between the intensity of the ageing process and the intensity of the cutting process the measure of this intensity i.e. the change of the mean age, showing the smallest value. The program of selecting the preferable direction of development of forest resources was presented using an optimization relation between the empirical norm of the mean age and the different traits of the mean age of the regulated site-type working classes (formula No 4). Then, the formulae are given for determining the volume of cleaning cutting for even-aged stands with a regeneration layer (group A) (formulae No 7 and 8) and the formulae for determining the optimum volume of the final cutting for the entire selection cutting in site-type working class with the partial cutting (formulae 9 and 10). Nevertheless, in the programming process the stand volume of mature stands of group A and group В will not be totally but partially removed in the nearest decade, as depending on sylviculture reguirements expressed by the length of the regeneration period and that of the cleaning period. The lengths should be determined by experts of sylviculture. The conclusion of the work is that m the developed method [he maintenance of die durability оf the selection cutting in a site-type working class with the partial cutting is ensured by the procedure of selecting the preferable direction of development of forest resources while the sylviculture reasons determined by the accepted type of culling, length of the regeneration period, and length of the cleaning period are decisive for the maintenance of stability of (his method of forest management.

W pracy przeprowadzono analizę postaci gospodarstwa przerębowozrębowego 2 rębnią częściową. Wynikiem tej analizy było opracowanie nowych, oryginalnych modeli stanu i rozwoju dla drzewostanów z warstwą odnowienia podokapowego (grupa A) i dla drzewostanów pozostałych bez tej warstwy (grupa B). Przedstawione modele posłużą do opracowania nowego systemu regulacji w tym sposobie zagospodarowania lasu.

The objectives of this study were to analyse the nature of the shelter-wood system and the processes involved, and to elaborate the new models of the State and development of Such system. W pracy określono podstawowe parametry technologiczne i ekonomiczne dwóch procesów pozyskiwania drewna, zastosowanych w drzewostanach dębowych z podsadzeniami bukowo-jodłowymi, zagospodarowanych rębnią częściową. Pod uwagę wzięto innowacyjną metodę pozyskiwania drewna, opartą o techniki arborystyczne. Osiągnięte wyniki porównano z danymi uzyskanymi przy tradycyjnym pozyskaniu drewna. Określono jednocześnie rodzaj i wielkość uszkodzeń powstałych w pozostającym drzewostanie.

Paper describes an innovative arboricultural timber harvesting process in stands managed with shelterwood method. Forementioned method has been compared with traditional methods of timber harvesting. In the both processes awood extraction was done by the Ponsse Elk forwarder. On the basis of research carried out in oak stands following factors have been established and compared: underwood damages, labour efficiency as well as some economic aspects. Conducted analysis enablcd to pinpoint benefits coming from the arboricultural timber harvesting method.
