The state-of the art in the area of two-phase flow of gas and non-Newtonian liquid mixtures in pipes has been presented. A basic part of the paper is dedicated to the fundamental problems in two-phase gas - liquid flow, namely the determination of flow patterns, hold-up of phases in the flowing mixture and flow resistance in such mixtures. Suggestions for future research concerning two-phase flow of gas and non-Newtonian liquid mixtures have been proposed.
