This paper presents an study of the non-flow-pattern dependent method permitting a solid velocity field to be unambiguously calculated with higher robust using a twin-plane electrical capacitance system. It is based on a spectrum analysis of the pixel values of both cross-sections of the tomographic system. The numerical results of flow velocity measurement using the proposed method against the correlation method are presented.

An analysis of the results of simulation of a fluid flow in a whirlpool container has been presented. The structure and velocities of secondary flows were analysed which occur during a natural and automatic inertia braking of a fluid rotary motion. The kinetics was determined and analysed of the velocity changes of the flow which silts up the settling cone which supports a specific type of brewer.s wort breaking after it has been boiled.

Przedstawiono analizę wyników obliczeń symulacyjnych ruchu cieczy w zbiorniku typu whirlpool. Zanalizowano strukturę i prędkość przepływów wtórnych występujących podczas naturalnego, samoczynnego hamowania ruchu wirowego cieczy. Określono i zanalizowano kinetykę zmian prędkości przepływu omywającego stożek osadowy wspomagający specyficzny rodzaj klarowania brzeczki piwnej po jej gotowaniu.

This paper addresses the use of capacitive measurement principles for process instrumentation. A brief review on capacitance-based sensors to measure industrial process parameters is provided. A capacitance-to-digital conversion system developed at the Sensors Group at our Institute is presented. Applications of capacitance-based process instrumentation for moisture sensing, flow velocity determination, fill level measurement and proximity sensing are discussed in detail.
