Przedstawiono analizę przepustowości urządzeń upustowych zbiornika Pilchowice w świetle aktualnych wymagań. Wskazano propozycje rozwiązań umożliwiających bezpieczne przepuszczenie przez zbiornik fal wezbraniowych.

The paper presents an analysis of flow capacity of the sluice of the Pilchowice reservoir in the light of present legal requirements. There has been made suggestions concerning solutions affording possibilities for safe passage of freshet waters through the reservoir.

Przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń i pomiarów przepustowości w korycie rzeki o złożonym przekroju poprzecznym. W obliczeniach średnich prędkości przepływu stosowano podział złożonych przekrojów koryta pionowymi liniami na koryto główne i tereny zalewowe. W obliczeniach uwzględniono pionowe linie podziału przekroju na koryto główne i części zalewowe. Wartości współczynników oporu wzdłuż linii podziału przekroju wyznaczano z zależności podawanych w literaturze oraz opracowanych na podstawie własnych badań. Obliczone wartości średnich prędkości i natężenia przepływu porównano z wyznaczonymi z pomiarów hydrometry cznych.

Calculation and results of measurements of flow capacity in a river bed with compound cross-section are presented. In calculation of average velocities is used division of cross-section into the main channel and the flood plain by means of imaginary vertical lines. In calculations have been taken into account the vertical lines of division into the main channel and parts of the flood plain. The values of friction factors along the lines of division of the cross-section have been calculated from the relationships published in bibliography and from results of investigations conducted by the Authors. The predicted values of average velocities and discharges have been compared with the values measured in the river.

In frames of works connected with modernizing the outlet installations of the Pilchowice storage reservoir on the Bóbr River, the model investigations of side channel spillway were carried out. The investigations were preceded by analyzing the principles of the functioning of this type of installation and analytical calculations defining its capacity ability. The studies were carried out on a large-scale physical model with a full representation of the conditions of water inflow on side channel spillway and also the conditions of water outflow by multistage cascade. The results of model tests were compared with analytical calculations and on that basis a necessity of the reconstruction of this installation was shown. Such a reconstruction ensures the safety of the reservoir in terms of computational discharges in the current state of a technical solution of outlet installation, significantly exceeding its nominal capacity ability.
