This paper presents results of experimental tests on masonry barrel vaults strengthened externally with composites. As a strengthening a glass grid or a carbon grid embedded in a cement-based matrix was used. Specimens were strengthened at their extrados. The main aims of presented research were to develope a strengthening method acceptable for vaults with paintings, determine load-carrying capacity and examine failure modes of tested specimens. The results of the tests are compared and discussed.

W artykule przedstawiono rodzaje wzmocnień połączeń płyt gipsowo-kartonowych, tj. siatka szklana, flizelina, taśma papierowa i taśma tuff-tape. Przeanalizowano wyniki badania na zginanie połączeń wypełnionych masą szpachlową oraz z zastosowaniem taśm wzmacniających. Połączenie płyt wypełniono dyspersyjną masą szpachlową.

The article presents the various types of reinforcement applied on plasterboard joints: glass fiber net, interfacing, paper tape, and Tuff tape. Bending strength values are examined for joints filled with compound and finished with reinforcement tape. Joints are in each case filled with dispersive compound.
