The area of public administration activities related to widely understood citizens protection has been in detail audited by NIK several times already. That is why the last audit, whose results have been discussed in this article, was aimed, to a large extent – with regard to several areas – to verify the way in which the previously indicated weaknesses were eliminated. While the area dedicated to crisis management processes was extended, since during the audit, in some regions exercises were conducted to assess the organisation of the activities and decision making process on the part of crisis management bodies, directly after information was provided on a crisis situation.
