In order to prevent operational problems arising from ash deposition, through comprehension of the phenomena taking place within the furnace, appropriate sampling and characterization of the deposits are necessary. One of the most common approaches for the assessment of operational problems related to ash deposition is based on determining the fusion behavior of ash by measurement of its sintering temperature. In this paper are presented the results of mechanical, thermal and electrical measurements of the ash samples prepared from brown and bituminous coal, some sewage sludge and biomass. The sintering tendency of the ashes was based on the chemical analysis, Ash Fusion Test data and Equilibrium Phase Diagrams. The sintering temperature is here determined by the change in the resistivity of ash while heated at a constant rate. On the basis of these experiments results, it was made the correlation between the ashes sintering temperature and electrical resistivity of the samples. It was observed the significant changes of the electrical resistivity during the heating process. To explain the electrical characteristics of the sample, some thermodynamic calculation was made and the equilibrium phase was determined. The characteristic resistivity changes were correlated with the equilibrium phases formed during heating process.

In the paper some essential informations concerning the metrological possibilities in the field of electric measurements of the Regional Verification Office in Lodz were described. It also contains the list of the measuring instruments and reference standards owned by the Electric Department of this Office.

Jednym z istotnych zjawisk występujących w sieciach zasilających są pojawiające się okresowo zapady napięcia lub przepięcia. W lokalnych systemach i układach przemysłowych zjawiska te wywoływane są najczęściej poprzez odłączenie lub załączenie linii zasilających oddalonych odbiorców. W artykule zastaną opisane wymagania i trudności dotyczące pomiarów przebiegów czasowych oraz możliwości zastosowania zmierzonych przebiegów do analizy niekorzystnych zjawisk przepięciowych w tego typu układach. Zaprezentowane zostaną wyniki pomiarów i symulacji dla sieci SN (20 kV).

One of the important phenomena occurring in supply networks are emerging periodically dips or surges. In industrial systems, these phenomena are caused most often by unplugging or switching on power lines away customers. The paper described the requirements and difficulties with measurements and the applicability of the measured waveforms for analysis of adverse surge events in this type of systems. In the paper are also presented the results of measurements and simulations for the MV network (20 kV).
