The pilling behavior of different kinds of knitted fabric structure from regenerated cellulose was investigated. There were compared knitted fabrics made from Tencel, Lyocell. Lyocell LF with or without added elastomeric yarn. The results indicate that all of tested fabrics have Iow pilling tendency. Use of elastomeric yarn in knitted fabric 's structure due to decrease of pilling tendency.

In the European and worldwide textile industry there is a tendency to increase quality and functionality of textiles. Mainly, it concerns special use textiles that are used for protection against infections and threats result from different factors - biological, physical, chemical mechanical and, particularly the most dangerous, factors that have negative impact on people and products [17, 20]. In the article, there are presented results of research on studies on new textile materials with using modified yarns. The authors focused on studies on yarns to give them protective features against static current and high temperatures. As the result of research, the new technology for knitwear was created. The new technology combines protective features against environmental threats with good physiological virtues. Because of character of new knitwear, they are intended to produce summer wear and underwear used as part of protective clothing.

The newest and long anticipated option of the USTER tester 5 S800 apparatus set was presented. This option allows obtaining the virtual image of the textile product on the basis of measurements of the unevenness, numbers of faults, hairiness and optical diameter of the yarns. They stated that thanks to this new option of the UT5 set it was even possible to design appearance of the fabric or knitwear on the basis of the estimation of the quality of the yarn, unnecessarily for its of producing in industry conditions.

Recently high quality fully natural blended yarns have completed the generous offers of the blended yarns which combine natural and synthetic fibers. The natural blended yarns made in 70 to 90 percent of cotton or wool with addition of other natural fibers. In idea of natural fibers blended yarns is directed on manufacturing higher comfort products. In the project the authors defined practical and physiological properties of yarns taking into consideration such parameters as permeability of the air and vapor, hygroscope, tendency of the surface to peel and to change the dimensions after washing and drying.

The majority of available on the market woven and knitted fabrics applied for summer clothing does not conform to the protection requirements against UV radiation. UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) is within the range 5-20 while the recommended value of UPF should be above 40 (according to European Standard EN 13758-2:2003). Ultraviolet radiation absorbed by human skin can cause numerous reactions including cancers - very dangerous melanoma. This paper describes test results of barrier properties against UV radiation and of physiological comfort of knitted fabrics used for summer clothing.
