The article presents the main elements from a discussion forum that examined the Internet as a genre from the perspective of linguistic genology. This genre is presented as a codified one, which meets technological requirements, accepted textual standards and norms of communication (netiquette, regulations). It is an asynchronous form, which operates in hypertextual mode, though oral elements can also be distinguished. The following elements are characteristic of Internet discussion forums: dialogic aspect, petrification of textual frame, thematic arrangements, colloquial character and a tendency to condense both form and content. The main purpose of Internet discussion forums is to present and share information and opinions.

The article presents the possibilities of using information and communication technologies in the teaching process on the example of moderating a discussion forum on an e-learning platform. The author, using her own experience and a phenomenological insight into her own practice, gives practical tips on how to activate persons learning by conducting a discussion in virtual space. The addressed issues comprise tips on the aims and usefulness of a forum; as well as on how to: start a forum, choose the topic, ask questions, deal with the traps of forum moderation, activate its participants, finally, end a discussion. Such a way of active arrangement of learning space and activation of learners fits in with the paradigmatic didactic change described by the formula the shift from teaching to learning, which the author of this article expands by adding and e-learning.

. . and e-learning.

This contribution proposes software infrastructure to support new types of learning methodologies and resources based on collaborative knowledge engineering by means of an innovative application framework called the virtualized collaborative sessions framework (VCSF). The VCSF helps meet challenging collaborative knowledge engineering requirements in online learning, such as increasing group members' learning performance during the on-line collaborative learning process. In turn, systematic application of the VCSF platform enriched with semantic knowledge engineering technologies enables e-learning developers to leverage successful collaborative learning experiences in a software reuse fashion while saving development time and effort. The framework is prototyped and successfully tested in real environments, thus showing the software reuse capability and the collaborative knowledge engineering benefits of the VCSF approach. The research reported in this paper was undertaken within the ALICE project funded through the European 7th Framework Program (FP7).

This work is based on language material comprising 1,508 pages. The analyzed texts are taken from the websites novinky.cz, lidovky.cz and idnes.cz, as these are records of discussion forums representingreactions to published news and comments. Overall, over 10,000 discussion messages were collected. The aim of this work is to analyze the tendency to vulgar expression in the observed discussion forums. I will try to find out how much the users keep or break the rules. Last but not least I will detect which means of vulgar and polite expressions prevail in this environment and to what extent the situation varies between the respective discussion forums.
