Badano wpływ kształtu i długości przegród na wytwarzanie zawiesiny w mieszalniku. Wykazano, że zastosowanie przegród rurowych pozwala obniżyć zarówno krytyczne wartości liczby obrotów na wytworzenie zawiesiny, jak i zużycie energii. W przypadku zawiesiny cząstek o średnicy 0,1—0,5 mm rekomendowane są do zastosowania przegrody o długości mniejszej niż wysokość układu dwufazowego w zbiorniku.

In this paper main technical and theoretical problems of solid mixing has been presented. Possibility of mixture state evaluation, sampling, time of mixing, and other problems dealing with high quality mixtures have been shown. Requirements concerning modern designs of mixing apparatus, especially for grain materials, have been described.

The paper presents some chosen questions of the non-Newtonian properties of a liquid effect on suspending and aeration in agitated systems. Special attention throughout the study was paid to the critical agitator speed and gas hold-up in viscous power-law liquids (aqueous solutions of high-molecular carboxymethylcellulose sodium salt and polyacrylamide). The tested agitator was the standard Rushton turbine. The gas distributor had a truncated cone form.
