The aim of this paper is to introduce and discuss the concept of ‘communication controlling’ from a linguistic point of view and to present its application to tertiary didactics. First, an overview of the definitions of ‘controlling’ and ‘communication controlling’ is given. Second, the linguistic approach to communication controlling and to the competences of the communication controller is presented. As the syllabi of training courses at the tertiary level in Poland lack topics concerning communication controlling, the paper outlines an interdisciplinary (linguistic and management) training course for prospective communication controllers.
