In recent years an assessment of the Level of quality management systems' maturity is more and more carried out. In this publication there are the results of research criteria significance of initial self-assesment from PN-ISO 10014:2008. This International Standard is addressed to top management. It provides guidelines for realizing financial and economic benefits through the effective application of eight quality management principles derived from ISO 9000:2005. The management principles examined in this publication were: a) customer focus, b) leadership, c) involvement of people, d) process approach, e) system approach to management, f) continual improvement, g) factual approach to decision making, and h) mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
