The idea of waste is used by left thinking authors rather incidentally. In the text author tries to conceptualise category of waste and shows main critical moments when waste phenomenon is actualized. Hereby the idea of waste is introduced to left thought dictionary. Author underlines two main areas of waste in modern capitalism. First is commodity waste which is caused by too big supply and/or demand. Second is waste of labour force. It includes such phenomena as unemployment, house work and ineffective work. Author concludes that capitalism is wasteful economical system. Although we can not think abut systems that are not wasteful at all because it does not exist. We can analyse level of waste and its function. In capitalist society its function is maintenance of principle of profit and private property.

Background: Transport needs are specific expectations of business organizations and depend on customers' preferences, availability of supra- and infrastructure and ecological awareness. This study aims at outlining global efforts towards sustainable development by utilizing transport means with optimized solutions and specific advantages of each transport mode. Novel concepts within multi-variant transport, such as co-modal or synchromodal transport, make up a basis for creating a higher standard of process organization, characterized by individual customized solutions. Material and methods: Have been described the features and main characteristics of modern concepts synchromodal transport and identifies differences in relation to the well-known multimodal system. The paper presents a statistical analysis of the share of various modes of transport in intermodal transport in the last ten years. Conducted the examination of the significance of quality features of transport services on a sample of 613 companies chosen deliberately. The collected data were analyzed using two marking scales indicated determinants of composite supply chain. Results and conclusions: The presented analysis of transport service qualities in the context of prospective synchromodal transport included participants of complex supply chains. The results show that they aim towards improvement of relations, co-operation and partnership in future process-related and strategic solutions.

W artykule dokonano przeglądu wybranych metod doboru źródeł zaopatrzenia - przedstawiono metody: punktową, graficzną i wskaźnikową oraz zestawiono przykładowe kryteria doboru dostawców. Podjęto próbę przedstawienia specyfiki doboru i oceny w Systemach Oceny Dostawców w wybranych przedsiębiorstwach, zwracając uwagę na takie aspekty, jak: znaczenie oceny ważonej oraz zastosowanie oceny z wykorzystaniem kryterium głównego i kryteriów pomocniczych. Całość zakończono wnioskami.

In the article the review of chosen methods of the supply's sources selection was caused. Presented methods stayed: taxonomical, graphical and indicator's; model criteria of the suppliers' selection of were also compared. The author made an attempt at describing the specificity of the selection and the evaluation in Evaluation Systems of Suppliers in selected companies. She payed attention to such aspects as: meaning of the weighed evaluation and applying the evaluation using the main criterion and support criteria. The whole was finished with conclusions.
