W artykule omówiono: podstawowe zadania Lotnictwa Wojsk Lądowych w działaniach bojowych, sposoby działania Lotnictwa Wojsk Lądowych (wady i zalety) oraz wykorzystanie śmigłowców uzbrojonych, transportowych i wielozadaniowych (specjalnych) w: - działania opóźniających, - działaniach obronnych, - działaniach zaczepnych oraz - prowadzeniu działań desantowych i desantowo-szturmowych. Omówiono także możliwości pozamilitarnego wykorzystania śmigłowców Lotnictwa Wojsk Lądowych, obecny stan i możliwości sprzętu lotniczego Lotnictwa Wojsk Lądowych a także planowane modernizacje i zakupy sprzętu lotniczego.

The following topics are presented in the article: basic tasks of the Army Air Forces in combat actions, methods of operation of the Army Air Forces (faults and features) and the application of armored, transport and multi-purpose helicopters on: - delaying operations, - defense operations, - offensive operations, - landing and landing-combat operations. The different than military usage of the Army Air Forces helicopters, the nowadays condition and abilities of the aircraft equipment of the Army Air Forces and the planned modernizations and purchases of aircraft equipment are also discussed.

The article is an attempt to answer the question on the role of urban area in contemporary battlefield. Characterising urban areas briefly preceded the considerations. The author stresses that in contemporary air-land operations carried out with strong fire - electronic actions the success may be achieved by the one who will fully take use of existing terrain conditions. The influence of this terrain specific characteristics on conducting combat operations has been presented in the second part of the article. Also the influence of atmospheric conditions in this environment on the troops’ actions has been discussed. Conclusions enabling taking an appropriate decision how to use a particular terrain for conducting warfare have been drawn. It results from these considerations that the urban area has a tremendous influence on the battle results. Its importance is often greater than any other physical factor (e.g. weapons, equipment, logistics). Numerous research programmes carried out in many armies of the world underline the significance of this problem.

The contemporary views on circuments and possibilities for using military forces, nature of their operational operations as well as fundamental characteristics of combat formations and organizational modules have been presented. The conclusions and forecasts concerning the weapon systems and logistics have been discussed. The problems of determining the logistic and maintenance needs have been formulated.

In the article essential problems have been discussed relating to combat actions planning in rocket and artillery troops stressing a specific character of racket and artillery units’ work on the background of command process biding in the land forces. The most significant difference lies in narrower range of planning as the time and location arrangements that oblige to use subordinate troops are worked out in the superior general military staff. In such a situation the rocket and artillery troops’ staffs have limited possibilities of operation and focus on technical development of fire support tasks. The final part of the article presents basic planning documents. Their form and contents include appropriate standard agreements binding in NATO and also structural – organisational conditions and technical equipment of our rocket and artillery troops’ commands.

Wooded-lake area is a relatively challenging for troops, since its distinctive character causes the necessity to employ specific tactics. A number of obstacles on a given ground and low road density contribute to limited operational mobility and the necessity of fighting in opposite and often remote directions while equally employing helicopters to a large extent. Therefore, both planning and establishment of military activities on wooded-lakes areas create a favorable opportunity to employ unconventional tactics, develop the initiative, and stimulate various activities.The data included in the study presented hereby was verified in the course of the military rehearsals held at the National Defense University in years past, the scenarios of which were located in the Masurian Lake District. Not only did the above-mentioned fact enable the exploration of the crucial aspects affecting the operations of helicopter-borne combat assaults and air assault task forces in the circumstances, but it also helped to identify the challenges faced by such elements of combat formations carrying out both offensive and defensive activities on wooded-lake terrain. In the author’s point of view, the conclusions drawn may be as well employed in the processes of planning and fighting in more convenient area’s conditions.

In the article there are described preliminary conclusions based on the project “In Memory of Lesya Kyzyk Research Project in Oral History: Ukrainian Women in the Military Conflict in Eastern Ukraine (2014–2016)”. The emphasis is on women’s participation in the war in eastern Ukraine. The project was implemented as part of the study of women’s oral history.

Uwaga koncentruje się na uczestnictwie kobiet w wojnie na wschodzie Ukrainy. Projekt został zrealizowany w ramach studiów historii mówionej kobiet.
