The article describes a system with client-server architecture. The basic assumptions of the architecture were presented along with the method to develop the system with the use of the OPC server. Suitable practical solutions were formulated.

The paper presents major trends in the modern architecture of large database systems. Two types of architecture are described in detail: the parallel architecture and the distributed architecture. It has been widely recognised that centralised, single processor computing systems and centralised database systems in particular are approaching their theoretical limits of performance. Hence we can observe a growing interest among researchers and developers in the design and implementation of highly efficient distributed architecture. The paper focuses on different types of client-server architecture, which nowadays is becoming very popular in data processing systems.

Przedstawiono model systemu multimodalnej bazy danych, zorientowany na identyfikację mówcy, zaprojektowany w celu przechowywania rekordów w postaci plików audio, wideo, graficznych i tekstowych. Dostęp do rekordów jest możliwy on-line przez sieć w architekturze typu klient-serwer przy użyciu Systemu Zarządzania Bazą Danych typu open source, przy czym dostęp obejmuje dodawanie, modyfikowanie, pobieranie i uzupełnianie rekordów w zależności od poziomu autoryzacji użytkownika. Dzięki modułowej strukturze i odpowiednio zaprojektowanemu mechanizmowi kategoryzacji, skalowalność systemu jest możliwa zarówno w skali makro (bazy danych zorientowane na zastosowanie) jak i mikro (liczba mówców/nagrań, język, itd.).

In the paper, the multimodal database system model designed to storę the audio, video, graphical and text file records for speaker identification is proposed. The opportunity to make the records accessible on-line via Web in the client-server architecture using an open source DBMS is provided, and the access involves sharing, loading, modifying or completing the records depending on the user's authorization level. Due to the modular structure and the categorization concept, the scalability of the system along the macro axis (purpose-oriented component databases) and micro axes (number of speakers/recording conditions, language, etc.) has been obtained. A specific solution has been proposed regarding a need for dealing with great volume files.

Przedstawiono analizę możliwości, jakie daje zastosowanie rozwiązania określanego mianem architektury "cienki klient"-serwer do organizacji pracowni komputerowych na bazie systemu operacyjnego Linuks. Na przykładzie konkretnego, zastosowanego w Akademii Rolniczej w Krakowie, projektu pokazano korzyści płynące z przyjęcia takiego modelu pracowni komputerowej w porównaniu z innymi modelami.

Paper analysed the possibilities that rendered accessible through the application of a solution called “thin client-server” architecture, to managiny computer laboratories based on the Linux operating system. On an example of actual project implemented in Agricultural University of Cracow, the advantages by applying such a model of computer laboratory - in comparison to the other models, were presented.

In this paper theoretic aspects of machine learning system in the field of computer vision is considered. There are presented methods of behavior analysis. There are offered tasks and problems associated with building systems using machine learning algorithm. The paper provides signs of problems that can be solved by using machine learning algorithms There is demonstrated step by step construction of computer vision system. The paper provides the algorithm of solving the problem of binary (two classes) classification for demonstration the machine learning algorithm possibilities in image recognition field, which can recognize the gender of the person on the photo. Aspects related to the search of data processing are also considered. There is analyzed the search of optimal parameters for algorithms. An interpretation of results in machine learning algorithm is provided. Binarization methods in machine learning algorithm are offered. There is analyzed the technology for improving the accuracy of machine learning algorithm. There are proposed ways to improve computer vision system in neural systems. Also there are analyzed large software modules that work using machine learning systems. The article provides prospects of powerful information technologies, which are necessary for the proper data selection in learning and configuration of feature extraction algorithm to create a computer vision system.
