Przedstawiono wybrane systemy identyfikacji strumieni pojazdów i omówiono ich przydatność dla celów logistyki miejskiej.

Effectiveness of city logistic solutions should be evaluable. A criterion function has been presented. Important operational data needed to evaluate the solutions can be obtained from traffic monitoring systems. Some of the monitoring systems can be used for gathering other data important for the evaluation. The systems are discussed in aspect of evaluation modifications of traffic engineering solutions influence on city logistics and acquisition of other data valuable for city logistics projects.

Omówiony został także schemat postępowania prowadzącego do wyboru właściwego instrumentu kształtowania zachowań użytkowników miasta. Głównym przesłaniem artykułu jest zachęcenie przedstawicieli różnorodnych dziedzin do zainteresowania problematyką logistyki miejskiej i współtworzenia skutecznego instrumentarium kształtowania zachowań z jej zakresu pro publico bono.

Specificity of city logistics domain, which is mainly a consequence of its prominently social character, inclines towards searching for new methods of achieving its goals, unknown to classical business logistics. Authors, while looking for inspiration in miscellaneous disciplines far from management (but allowing to better understand nature of social behaviours), suggest range of exemplary behaviuor affecting instruments with reference to municipal functions. Also a scheme of procedure leading to choice of a proper instrument has been discussed. The main purpose of the article is to encourage representatives of different scientific disciplines to pay attention to problems of city logistics and to take a part in creating a proper set of city users behaviour affecting instruments.

Question of traffic congestions analysed within the framework of a city logistics is such problem, which is caused due to various factors. There are applied different methodological approaches in order to eliminate the traffic congestions. These methods are distinguished each other with regard to their complexity and applied tools. Among these tools just the software simulation plays an irreplaceable role. The software simulation method is an efficient decision-making tool, which is suitable for solving of the traffic problems during the individual solution phases. There will be presented in the following paper application possibilities of the software simulation methods that are specified for solving of the traffic congestions.

Parcel lockers seem to be a very interesting and innovative solution for any type of city, beneficial to both customers and online stores. Accounting for the growing number of B2C e-commerce customers, this measure significantly meets their needs. Moreover, this solution solves the challenges of last-mile deliveries, which are one of the major effects of heavy traffic of commercial vehicles in the whole city area. Recipients and senders of parcels through parcel lockers are the main generators of demand for this service. Hence, assessing their satisfaction and requirements is a key indicator of the development of this area. This work focuses on the efficiency of user parcel lockers and compares the situation in Italy, Poland, and Ukraine. This paper also presents an analysis of the already existing data on the satisfaction of parcel locker users, as well as the results of a study conducted among Ukrainian consumers for this work.

The article presents a possibility of reduction of C02 emission to the air through fluent traffic control within an urbanized area. Application of intelligent traffic control, except for reduction of pollution to the environment may also increase fluency of traffic within road junctions and partially solve the issue of economics and organisation of city transport. The presented method may be applied to a cause and effect analysis of bottlenecks occurring within a city. We will also present an analysis for future development research in which it will be possible to propose other methods of supporting city traffic control i.e. fuzzy sets or neural networks, hybrid methods and heuristics. Each, even the small est improvement of vehicles passage in time perspective will ensure great benefits both to the environment and for our organization.

Stale postępujący proces urbanizacji doprowadził do sytuacji, w której większość ludności żyje w miastach. Tym samym wszystko, co związane jest z bytowaniem człowieka, nagromadzone w jednym miejscu powoduje wiele problemów natury ekologicznej. Są to między innymi: wzrastająca liczba aut osobowych, wzmożone potoki przepływu towarów, przestarzałe środki komunikacji miejskiej, brak właściwej gospodarki odpadami komunalnymi i nieukształtowane wzorce proekologiczne mieszkańców. Władze samorządowe, chcąc chronić środowisko naturalne, starają się wyeliminować zjawiska je degradujące. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie szans i barier działań proekologicznych podejmowanych w mieście Gdynia. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zastosowanie środków komunikacji miejskiej przyjaznych środowisku, system likwidacji i utylizacji odpadów oraz edukację ekologiczną.

Constant progress of urban development led to the situation that most people live in towns. Due to that everything connected with people`s lives is gathered in one place which causes a lot of ecological problems. These are: increasing numbers of vehicles, transport of goods, old means of public transport, lack of proper waste management and lack of proecological behaviour of city inhabitants. Local authorities try to eliminate destroying activities in order to protect natural environment. The aim of the article is to try to present chances and barriers of proecological activities undertaken in Gdynia. The resolutions could be of great value for other big towns and cities which deal with the number of variety of ecological problems.

Jedną z zasadniczych barier stosowania logistyki w zarządzaniu miastem są trudności przy ilościowym pomiarze i jakościowej ocenie poziomu spójności systemu logistyki miejskiej. W artykule przyjęto, że system logistyki miejskiej to celowo zorganizowany zbiór elementów, takich jak: jego interesariusze, infrastruktura, normy regulacyjne i system taryfowy oraz związki między nimi, które są zaangażowane w przepływy osób, ładunków oraz towarzyszących im informacji na obszarach zurbanizowanych. W odniesieniu do tak zdefiniowanych elementów systemu zaproponowano zestaw wskaźników i mierników do monitorowania i oceny poziomu spójności logistyki miejskiej w jej płaszczyźnie społeczno- ekonomicznej, technicznej, informacyjnej, finansowej i przestrzennej.

One of the main barriers of logistics concept implementation in the practice of city management is the lack of consensus related to the quantitative measuring as well as qualitative evaluation of the city logistics system's connectivity. The city logistics system can be understood as a deliberately organized set of elements, such as: stakeholders, infrastructure, regulatory standards and tariffs as well as relationships between them, which are involved in the process of flows of people, cargo and relevant information within urban areas. In the last part of the paper the list of measures and indicators for connectivity of city logistics systems measurement and evaluation has been proposed.

City logistics and mass sporting events logistics are modern concepts using good practices to achieve established aims. Both issues are connected by the set of common features, which allow using the best practices modifying the processes of city management or mass event management. The aim of this article is to analyze city logistics from the angle of best practices possibilities – solutions applied by the organization of mass sporting events. The object of the study represents a system of city logistics and logistics system of sporting events, while used research methods were: the analyzes of literature, critical analysis of documents prepared by companies responsibilities for the preparation of events and own observations. Common points and examples of good practices of city logistics presented in table 1 and 2 confirm a hypothesis about a correlation between concepts. Using solutions which are commonly innovative in city management can significantly contribute to the facilitation of goods, persons and information flows and to decrease the negative impact of human activity on natural environmet.

The manuscript deals with the subject of determining the optimal delivery routes in terms of supplying urban distribution centers when minimizing the distance traveled in a particular region for the purpose of addressing city logistics issues using the specific Operations Research method, namely the Clarke-Wright method. Thus, the main paper objective is to examine the issue: what are the optimal transport journeys from the specific object among individual customers in a certain region in order to execute minimum transport performance? First two sections of the manuscript specify the relevant concepts regarding the issue of distribution tasks and vehicle routing problem, and presents data and methods in relation to this research study. The most significant part of the article models the individual routes to determine the optimal interconnections of urban distribution center and their supply from one logistics service center in a regional logistics network at a city logistics scale when applying the Clarke-Wright method. The last sections of the elaborated research study evaluate the major findings and discuss the possible future initiatives in the topic addressed.
