The aim of the paper is to present investigations of the packing hydraulics applied to a two-stage cooling tower. A co-current section of the cooling tower has been equipped with the high-performance skew cellular packing generating the dispersion regime of liquid flow. The specific structured packing is proposed for the counter-current section. It can be used in the film, bubbling and emulsion regimes. Additionally, there have been defined the characteristic areas of work as well as equations of the gas pressure drop through a packing bed.
The aim of the paper is to present the investigation results of the water cooling process in a two-stage cooling tower. The process model of cooling tower has been developed together with equations allowing one to determine mass transfer coefficients in the cooling tower. The coefficients can be applied in a broad range of process and constructional parameters.
