The increased competition means that companies are currently looking for new methods to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The actions that are environmentally friendly are becoming increasingly more popular in organizations. They fi t in the concept of sustainable development. Such stages as production, usage and disposal of postconsumer waste product were the most environment-friendly. Since organizations observe a growing number of green consumers, they focus on the production of green products. Also on the real estate market there begin to emerge environment-friendly buildings. Companies can make use of information included in green certifi cates. The article discusses the concept of sustainable business, green certifi cates and green investment on the real estate market.
