General rules of calculation of the roof lateral bracings are presented. In the procedure is limited to a single-span truss bracing, which stabilizes laterally members being under compression produced by forces distributed in the quasi-parabolic form within their length. The paper presents proposals associated with calculation of the horizontal, lateral bracings of roof rafters having a cantilever or multispan scheme. The cantilever to be stabilized is compressed by forces distributed in the quasi-parabolic form, whereas the multispan system is partly under compression and partly under tension. The problem of initially curved member is approached by replacing this imperfection by the effect of on equivalent stabilizing force applied to the transversal bracing of above mentioned systems in a form different from that given in . The theoretical models, which can be employed in the appropriate analysis of the horizontal, lateral bracings for the both, cantilever and multispan systems have been proposed.
