Małgorzata Szumowska – her strong position during the last decade in the history of Polish cinema seems unquestionable. Speaking with her own, original voice, she has successfully refused to be pigeonholed. The only thing one can be sure of in reference to Małgorzata Szumowska is that she will keep moving forward artistically. The main goal of the article is to examine this interesting journey, following selected threads, in particular, the need for love and facing death or a serious illness, in Szumowska’s filmography over the last decade.

Celem niniejszego szkicu jest interpretacja „Rodzinnej historii lęku” Agaty Tuszyń-skiej z perspektywy literatury holocaustowej. Tuszyńska, jako pisarka należąca do pokolenia poholocaustowego, w „Rodzinnej historii lęku” prezentuje wątki autobio-graficzne ściśle związane z problematyką Zagłady. Kwestię tę rozpatruje z perspektywy dorosłej kobiety, która nosi w sobie piętno Holocaustu. Jako przedstawicielka drugiego pokolenia nie przeżyła czasów wojny, ale jej skutki, w formie spadku przejętego od matki, odczuwa po dziś dzień. Autorka szkicu wykazuje, że zarówno na płaszczyźnie formy, jak i treści, posttrauma jest kluczowym aspektem dla interpretacji tekstu. Artykuł jest więc próbą zarysowania problematyki kobiecej prozy holocaustowej na przykładzie książki Agaty Tuszyńskiej, wpisania tego utworu w krąg badań prowadzonych w ramach trauma studies oraz współczesnych rozważań literaturoznawczych na temat Zagłady.

The aim of the article is to interpret “Rodzinna historia lęku” (“Family history of anxie-ty”) by Agata Tuszyńska from the perspective of Holocaust literature. Tuszyńska, as a post-Holocaust generation writer, addresses autobiographical themes closely related to the Holocaust. This issue is approached from the perspective of an adult woman who bears the stigma of the Holocaust. As a representative of the second generation, she did not experience the war, but she still feels its effects inherited from her mother. The author demonstrates that both in terms of form and content post-trauma is a key aspect for the interpretation of the text. The article is thus an attempt to outline the issues of women’s Holocaust prose based on Agata Tuszyńska’s book, and include it in trauma studies and contemporary literary reflection on the Holocaust.

Edward Kupiszewski’s (1940–2000) poetic work documents the fate of a representative of the Polish intelligentsia who lives in the countryside during the second half of the twentieth century. His poems reflect complexes of the inhabitant of the provinces as well as his creative ambition and dignity. Using geographical realities, Kupiszewski evoked autobiographical experiences, literary tradition, religious experience and political unrest of his time. This literary output represents the stream of Polish regional poetry.

Twórczość poetycka Edwarda Kupiszewskiego (1940–2000) dokumentuje los polskiego inteligenta z prowincji drugiej połowy XX w. W wierszach odzwierciedlają się kompleksy prowincjusza, a jednocześnie jego twórcza ambicja i godność. Kupiszewski, posługując się realiami geograficznymi, przywoływał doświadczenia autobiograficzne, tradycję literacką, przeżycia religijne oraz niepokoje polityczne swojego czasu. Dorobek liryczny poety reprezentuje nurt polskiej poezji regionalnej.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest praca Agnieszki Nęckiej Emigracje intymne. O współczesnych polskich narracjach autobiograficznych. W tekście wskazano różne modele doświadczenia emigracyjnego scharakteryzowane w publikacji przez autorkę, która badając twórczość Zygmunta Haupta, Zbigniewa Kruszyńskiego, Manueli Gretkowskiej, Artura Leczyckiego, Mikołaja Łozińskiego,Tomasza Piątka, Michała Witkowskiego i Magdaleny Tulli, kategoryzuje emigrację jako realną, literacką oraz biograficzną. Zauważono również, że autobiograficzne mierzenie się autorów, wymienionych przez Agnieszkę Nęcką, z obcością i poczuciem odrzucenia oraz budowaniem własnej tożsamości na wygnaniu, pełni funkcję autoterapeutyczną. Publikację uznano za ważną pozycję w badaniach nad współczesną polską literaturą emigracyjną.

The subject of the text is a publication by Agnes Nęcka Intimate emigrations. On Polish contemporary autobiographic narratives. Various models of emigration experience were indicated in the text. All were characterised in the publications by the author who has studied the works by Zygmunt Haupt, Zbigniew Kruszyński, Manuela Gretkowska, Artur Leczycki, Mikołaj Łoziński, Tomasz Piątek, Michał Witkowski and Magdalena Tulli and on this basis has categorised the emigration as real, literary and biographical. It has also been noticed that autobiographical attempts made by the authors, listed by Agnieszka Nęcka, characterized by strangeness, feeling of rejection and building a separate identity on the exile, perform auto therapeutic functions. The publication was recognized valid in the research on contemporary Polish emigration literature.
