The aim of this work involves studying the impact of varied types of steel fibers (SF) on the performance of self-compacting concrete (SCC), containing volcanic pumice powder (VPP). In this study, five types of steel fiber, which had a hooked end with two lengths of (SF1) and (SF3), flat end of length (SF2), in addition to the pointed end of (SF4) and (SF5) by 1% of volume fraction, were used. In addition, hybrid steel fiber (a mixture of all the steel fiber types) by 0.2% of volume fraction of concrete volume was used. Moreover, VPP was utilized by 30% cement mass as a substitute material for producing SCC. The impact of steel fiber properties in the shape of SF on the fresh concrete properties as slump flow and segregation were investigated. In addition to their influence on the compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength, toughness, porosity, water absorption, and bulk density were examined. The results showed that SF led to decreasing the SCC fresh properties. Utilizing SF, on the other hand, improved the SCC hardened properties, as well as the toughness indices.

Static analysis of isotropic plates under uniformly distributed and point loading is investigated in this paper. A sixteen noded sub-parametric element having fifty-two degrees of freedom is developed for this purpose. The first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) has been used in the entire analysis. The transverse and in-plane displacements and bending rotations are taken as independent field variables and the polynomials used to express these variables are of different orders.

W pracy przedstawiono metodykę oceny porowatości w materiałach spiekanych nieodkształconych plastycznie. Wybrano reprezentatywny obszar do analizy, wykonano zdjęcia metalograficzne, uzyskane obrazy przygotowano do analizy, opracowano założenia do weryfikacji obiektów do analizy oceny porowatości w spiekach. Przygotowano tablicę wzorców przykładowych kształtów porów według przyjętych kryteriów. Poprawność opracowanej metody wyznaczenia średniej porowatości w spieku, na podstawie analizy przyjętego reprezentatywnego lokalnego obszaru, zweryfikowano metodą hydrostatyczną.

The paper presents a methodology for evaluating the porosity in the sintered material plastically undeformed. Selected representative area for analysis made metallographic photos, images obtained prepared for analysis, developed guidelines for the verification of objects to analyze the assessment of porosity in the sintered. They prepared an array of patterns of exemplary pore shapes according to accepted criteria. The correctness of the method developed in the designation of medium porosity frit, based on a representative adopted in the local area, hydrostatic verified.
