This article describes application of new aromatic fraction biomarkers groups in oil-oil and oil- source rock correlation. In a previous study, crude oils were correlated based on source rock depositional environment, using hopanes and steranes biomarkers type and stable bulk isotopes. This paper describes triaromatic and monoaromatic steroids application for more precise. The distribution of triaromatic and monoaromatic steroids from chosen oils and source rocks is shown as ion chromatograms and they are divided into short chain (C19-C22) and long chain (C25-C28) compounds. The distribution of aromatic steroids could be used as a fingerprint of source rock maturation as well as for correlation of crude oils and source rocks in petroleum system studies.
