The aim of the studies was to select a set of agrometeorological factors describing the level of potato yields in production conditions in the best way and also to show their time and spatial distribution within the period from 1972 to 1995 and in the years of extremely disadvantageous conditions (1980 and 1992) with regards to agrometeorological cultivation in Poland. The basie material included meteorological data from 50 IMGW (Institute of Meteorology and Water Management) stations and extreme States of soil moistening from 288 IMGW reporting regions and the GUS (Central Statistical Office) data conceming the level of potato yields from 44 provinces according to the administrative division from 1975.
