Transport lądowy nie jest dobrze zorganizowany na Haiti. W dużych miastach natężenie ruchu kołowego jest znaczące, obserwuje się niski poziom bezpieczeństwa w ruchu drogowym i dużą liczbę wypadków. Zanieczyszczenie środowiska w rezultacie użytkowania samochodów jest duże i uciążliwe, zużycie paliwa przez środki transportu kołowego znacząco przekracza europejskie standardy. Stawia się tezę, że istniejąca sieć dróg lokalnych w powiązaniu z właściwie zaprojektowanym systemem telematyki transportu międzymiastowego umożliwi eliminację istniejących niedogodności.Oczekiwanym celem jest zwiększenie efektywności systemu transportowego na Haiti. W artykule podjęto próbę identyfikacji możliwości wdrożenia systemu telematyki transportu na Haiti. W tym celu niezbędne jest opracowanie i wdrożenie do praktyki systemu pozyskiwania informacji w zakresie zdarzeń towarzyszących procesowi eksploatacji systemu transportu kołowego oraz elementów infrastruktury. Następnie istotne jest zidentyfikowanie dobrych praktyk w zakresie znanych rozwiązań i ich adaptacja do warunków w Haiti.(abstrakt oryginalny)

Land transportation is not well organized in Haïti. Major cities are experiencing tough situations of congestion on days of intense activities and safety is a big concern as accidents usually cause great number of casualties. Also, vehicles are very pollutant and consume a lot of fuel. The existing network of national roads offers a possibility of developing intercity transport telematics, and its success depends on the way the implementation is planned and executed.In order to improve the transport system to be more efficient, this paper proposes the development of telematics for the Haitian transportation as a solution, and identifies the problem related to its implementation. This efficiency is examined according to satisfying records and information based on the use of intelligent transport systems applications in selected countries while exploring some measurement possibilities. Successful examples of telematics development for transportation in some countries can be applied in Haitian transportation with satisfying results if proper conditions are set.(original abstract)

The purpose of the article is to deepen the considerations on smart mobility. It is a solution pursued by all cities around the world. The publication presents the current ranking of major cities of the future and is provided with adequate commentary. Attention was also paid to the need for scientific exploration in the context of new emerging challenges surrounding fleet modernization and diversification of environmentally friendly propulsion sources. In the case study section, the author analysed how the local government unit met the qualitative and functional challenge of public transportation for residents. The subject of the study was the capital city of Warsaw. The author presents a brief picture of the city and, according to available data, discusses the possibilities of technological modernisation of the available rolling stock and outlines the changes in the use of conventional fuel and environmentally friendly alternative energy sources. Based on the study, it has been concluded that the direction of development of the capital in the whole area of smart cities, as well as in the sphere of the mobility index, improve the comfort of travel in the agglomeration area.
