The main reservoir unit of the Stężyca field (Carboniferous Dęblin Formation) was deposited in fluvio-deltaic facies in the Lublin Basin. In order to improve the understanding of seismic data, which are particularly complex for the region, seismic model for the reservoir horizon has been constructed. The model has been based on the sedimentological correlations and well log data. Each sedimentological layer from the correlation was defined by the density and the velocity extracted from the well logs and put into the GXII computer program to generate synthetic sections. The resulting synthetic image relates well with the actual profiles from the 3-D seismic survey and it shows that seismic modelling could be a useful tool for checking the geological models in other parts of the basin.
