Only such complexes could be competitive with suburban malls and multiplexes and please very different client's needs. The architecture of the buildings, together with the composition of surrounding public space are two of the most important features of the museum complex. They become to play the role of the marketing element. Multifunctional museum complexes have been built at the both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. As two examples of approaching the urban context, author have choose two complexes - Getty Center in Los Angeles and Museums Quartier in Vienna - which have been recently finished in completely different cities, different cultures and circumstances.
