Sytuacje awaryjne na moście głównym MA532 w ciągu autostrady A1 w węźle Mszana, przy pewnym niezrozumieniu innowacyjności konstrukcji, spowodowały powstanie wielu mitów stwarzanych przez ekspertów i dziennikarzy. Artykuł ma na celu wyjaśnienie wątpliwości oraz pokazanie faktów, które obalą powstałe medialne mity.

The innovativeness of the solution of the MA532 main bridge within the A1 motorway in the Mszana interchange consists of: using extradosed cables for a very wide bridge (38 to 47 m) only in the middle of the deck’s width, compressing external cables in the cross section which distributes loads from extreme webs and cantilevers to the web in the middle, connection between another bridge – MD532.1 (which is a slip road) and main bridge in the middle of the span. Innovative design and complicated geometry were a big implementing difficulty. These, as well as implementing a number of errors, were the reason for a few partial failure situations. These situations, with some misunderstanding of the structure’s innovative design, resulted in many myths created by experts and journalists. The article aims at clarifying doubts and showing facts that will debunk the media myths.
