The identification and quantification of phenolic compounds of Stachys lavandulifolia Vahl. var. brachydon Boiss. by LC-MS/MS (Liquid Chromatography- tandem Mass Spectrometry) technique is the main purpose of the current study. The high concentrations of quinic acid (2534± 12 ppb) and chlorogenic acid (1882±92 ppb) were detected by LC-MS/MS.. Another goal of the study is to evaluate the antioxidant activities of both ethanol and aqueous extracts of the plant material. The antioxidant potentials of extracts were determined by using five different in vitro methods including; ABTS (2,2′-Azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid), DPPH(1,1- diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl), FRAP (Ferric ions Reducing Antioxidant Power), CUPRAC (Cupric ions Reducing Antioxidant Power), and ferric thiocyanate methods. The results revealed that the aqueous and ethanol extracts of S. lavandulifolia leaves have good antioxidant potential with high phenolic content.

A multiresidue method (LC-MS/MS) for determination of wide range of anthelmintics was developed. The method covered benzimidazoles: albendazole (and metabolites), cambendazole, fenbendazol (and metabolites), flubendazole (and metabolites), mebendazole (and metabolites), oxibendazole, thiabendazole (and metabolites), triclabendazole (and metabolites); macrocyclic lactones: abamectin, doramectin, emamectin, eprinomectin, ivermectin, moxidectin; salicylanilides: closantel, ioxynil, nitroxynil, oxyclosamide, niclosamide, rafoxanid and others: clorsulon, derquantel, imidocarb, monepantel (and metabolites), morantel, praziquantel, and pyrantel. The method was used to examine the potential presence of anthelmintics in goat and sheep milk and dairy products from the Polish market. A total of 120 samples of milk, yoghurt, cottage cheese, cream cheese, and curd were analysed. None of the samples were found positive above CCa (1-10 µg/kg) except for one cottage cheese in which traces of albendazole sulfone were detected (5.2 µg/kg) and confirmed. The results of the study showed negligible anthelmintic residues in the goat and sheep milk and dairy products and confirm their good quality.

Chromatografia cieczowa połączona z tandemową spektrometrią mas (LC-MS-MS) jest jedną z częściej stosowanych technik do oznaczania stężeń substancji leczniczych w materiale biologicznym. Przybliżono podstawy teoretyczne spektrometrii mas oraz korzyści wynikające z połączenia z chromatografią cieczową. Przedstawiono zalety i wady zastosowania LC-MS-MS w badaniach farmakokinetycznych, w szczególności w badaniach równoważności biologicznej produktów leczniczych.

A liquid chromatographic method with mass spectrometric determination and identification (LC-MS/MS) for the determination of chloramphenicol (CAP) in tissues of animal origin was presented. Homogenized samples were extracted with ethyl acetate and evaporated to dryness followed by a clean-up using the liquid-liquid distribution between acetonitryle and hexane. Chloramphenicol was determined by LC-MS-ESI-MS in negative mode. There was used Phenomenex column with the mixture of acetonitrile-water as a mobile phase. The method was validated according to the criteria of Decision Commission No 2002/657/EC. Samples were fortified at CAP levels between 0.1 and 0.45 ng/g with 5d-CAP as internal standard. Recoveries for the level 0.3 ng/g were in the range 76.3-100.3%. Limit of decision (CCoc) was between 0.137-0.205 ng/g. Limit of quantification (LOQ) -0.1 ng/g.
