Ao realizar pesquisa nos arquivos pessoais do arcebispo de Diamantina, Minas Gerais, D. Geraldo de Proença Sigaud (1909-1999), observou-se que o então bispo de Diamantina (Minas Gerais) possuía importantes contatos com grupos anticomunistas norte-americanos e que recebia deles certo apoio ideológico. Foram encontrados inúmeras obras de cunho anticomunista e também correspondências entre o bispo e esses grupos no período da década de 1960. Esse artigo tem como objetivo principal apontar alguns desses contatos e trazer à luz alguns documentos que circularam no Concílio Vaticano II (1962-1965) a fim de conseguirem uma condenação explícita do comunismo por parte do concílio

Research performed in the personal files and archives belonging to the Archbishop of Diamantina, Minas Gerais – Geraldo Proença Sigaud - showed that the Bishop of Diamantina (Minas Gerais) held important contacts with North American anticommunist groups receiving form them certain ideological support. In the Bishop´s files, the researcher found a great number of anticommunist works as well as correspondence between the Bishop and the anticommunist groups during the decade of 1960. The main purpose of this article is to point out some of these contacts and to shed light onto some of the documents that circulated during the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) in order to get an explicit conviction of communism from the Council

Decree on ecumenism is still the chief source of the Catholic involvement in ecumenical movement. Due to continuously changing of social and cultural conditions and in face of new challenges to ecumenism, it appears as indispensable tool to work out the hermeneutic principles of the Decree content, particularly, of the Catholic principles of ecumenism. This task was taken on by Rev. Prof. Leonard Górka SVD, former employee and Director of the Ecumenical Institute of the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin. He listed these principles and described a historical context of their genesis in his commentary on Decree, which was presented in his numerous publications and during his lectures. Article stresses the need for the hermeneutics of Decree on ecumenism and inquires the key elements of hermeneutic commentary to Decree created by Lublin theologian.

Dekret o ekumenizmie Unitatis redintegratio stanowi wciąż kluczowy dokument określający katolickie zaangażowanie w ruch ekumeniczny. W zmieniających się wciąż warunkach społecznych i kulturowych i wobec pojawiających się przed ekumenizmem wyzwań nieodzownym narzędziem jest opracowanie zasad hermeneutycznych treści Dekretu, zwłaszcza zawartych w nim katolickich zasad ekumenizmu. Zadania tego w swej pracy teologicznej podjął się ks. prof. Leonard Górka SVD, długoletni były pracownik i dyrektor Instytutu Ekumenicznego KUL. W swym komentarzu do Dekretu, prezentowanym w licznych publikacjach oraz podczas wykładów, sformułował listę tych zasad, osadzając jednocześnie interpretację dokumentu we właściwym kontekście historycznym. Artykuł akcentuje konieczność hermeneutyki Dekretu o ekumenizmie i przybliża podstawowe elementy hermeneutycznego komentarza do niego opracowane przez lubelskiego teologa.

In connection with the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, initiated by the thesis of Martin Luther on indulgences, there arises a question whether the postulates of the German Reformer were adopted in some measure in the teaching of indulgences and in the practice of their granting by the Roman Catholic Church. What are the conditions for the factual and communicative presentation of this doctrine now? The author of the text first shows the genesis of the medieval knowledge about indulgences, rooted in the penitential practices of the ancient Church. He then discusses the circumstances of Martin Luther’s appearance and the heart of his protest. In turn, he sketches the official doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church regarding indulgences: from the Council of Trent to modern times, pointing to the attempts at innovativetheological solutions to the problem of indulgences. The text ends with an originalreflection on the possibility / appropriateness of proclaiming indulgences by the contemporary Church.

W związku z 500-leciem reformacji, rozpoczętej tezami Marcina Lutra o odpustach, powstaje pytanie, czy postulaty niemieckiego reformatora zostały przyjęte w jakiejś mierze przez Kościół rzymskokatolicki w nauczaniu o odpustach i w praktyceich udzielania. Jakie są warunki rzeczowego i komunikatywnego przedstawiania tej doktryny obecnie? Autor tekstu ukazuje najpierw genezę średniowiecznej nauki o odpustach, zakorzenionej w praktykach pokutnych starożytnego Kościoła. Następnie omawia okoliczności wystąpienia Marcina Lutra i sedno jego protestu. Z kolei szkicuje oficjalną doktrynę Kościoła rzymskokatolickiego w kwestii odpustów: od Soboru Trydenckiego po czasy współczesne, wskazując również na próby nowatorskich teologicznych rozwiązań problemu odpustów. Tekst kończy się autorską refleksją nad możliwością/stosownością głoszenia odpustów przez współczesny Kościół.
