The uppermost part of the Khoy ophiolite includes submarine volcanic lavas. These rocks are found as two different types including basaltic pillow lavas and andesitic to andesitic basalt massive-sheet lavas known as the Qezil Dash unit. These last rocks host volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation (VMS). Concordant small lenticular massive sulphides associated with widespread stockworks, extensive wall rock alteration and simple mineralogical parageneses are characteristic of this mineralisation. The Qezil Dash lavas are characterized by HFSE depletion (such as in Nb, Zr, and Hf) and LILE enrichment, low Yb, Y and Ni contents and low Zr/Hf and Nb/Ta ratios. These rocks have low Ti contents and are of LKT type. These geochemical characteristics can be interpreted as indicating SSZ magmatism and suggesting that the Qezil Dash rocks belong to an early stage of island arc formation. Geochemically, this host rock is comparable with the Lasail unit, part of a volcanic sequence within the Oman ophiolite. In the Troodos and Oman ophiolites VMS mineralisation has occurred at the contacts of MOR-basalt and island arc tholeiite (IAT) lavas, so prospecting for VMS deposits in the Khoy area should be estabilished based on geochemical investigations of the volcanic rocks and recognition of their field boundaries.

The eastern Tell Atlas of Algeria is characterized by a complex neotectonic system including lateral strike-slips, and normal and reverse faults. The landscape of the Neogene basin of MilaConstantine acquired its shape due to the perpetual action of tectonic activity, and erosion processes. Neo-tectonics in this basin have affected the geometry of the stream network and the contemporary landscape topography. Our methodology evaluates the active tectonics in this mountainous region by a combination of drainage network and geomorphic indices, namely, the basin-shape index (Bs), stream-length gradient (SL), hypsometric integral (HI), mountain front sinuosity (Smf), basin asymmetry factor (AF), and valley-floor ratio (Vf). The calculated values of the six measured geomorphic indices were used to differentiate the distribution of faults function as well as the relative tectonic activity in the study area. The obtained results from the GIS-based multi-criteria analysis of these indices consist of the index of active tectonics (IAT). Hence, we defined four hierarchic degrees of IAT, namely, very high (VH), high (H), moderate (M), and low (L). The relative active tectonics represents an obvious correlation between morpho-structural features, tectonic activities, and uplift rates. It selects the morphotectonic features and landforms that interpret the tectonic events in the study area. Our results prove that this approach discerns the most active regions related to the neo-tectonic action in the RhumelSmendou drainage basin. The combination of geomatics and field surveys highlights the cliffs which are still rising by using the drainage patterns, the landform model, and the mountain range shape.

W artykule przedstawiono niskokrzepnące płyny do układów chłodzenia silników spalinowych w aspekcie ekologicznym. Opisano funkcje i skład płynów chłodniczych do silników spalinowych oraz scharakteryzowano toksyczne składniki wchodzące w ich skład. Przedstawiono wymagania stawiane nowoczesnym płynom do chłodnic z analizą wpływu poszczególnych składników na własności eksploatacyjne płynu. Zaproponowano ekologiczne zamienniki toksycznych składników płynów chłodniczych do silników spalinowych, których stosowanie pozwala na uzyskanie odpowiedniej jakości produktu wraz ze znaczącym zmniejszeniem jego technicznego kosztu wytworzenia.

The article presents antifreeze fluids for engine cooling systems in the ecological aspect. Describes the functions and composition of the engine coolant for internal combustion engines and characterized the toxic components constituting them. Presents the requirements of a modern radiator fluids with analysis of the impact of individual components on the operational efficiency of fluid. Proposed ecological substitutes for toxic components of engine coolants, whose application is enough to get appropriate product quality with a significant reduction in the technical cost of production.
