The article is based on an analysis of German literary anthroponyms, especially surnames, which are used in fifteen plays written for the Jára Cimrman Theatre. The aim of this contribution is to find for which figures authors choose German last names and also to observe the contrast between Czech and German surnames. The article also deals with the use of the functions of literary anthroponyms. Furthermore, it discusses stereotypes connected with Czech and German nationalism.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest konceptualizacja somatyzmów odnoszących się do ludzkiej głowy, które odzwierciedlone zostały w polskich i niemieckich nazwiskach wyekscerpowanych z istniejących leksykonów antroponimicznych. Omawiane antroponimy reprezentują typ nazwisk odapelatywnych równych motywującym je podstawom lub derywowanych od nich. W analizie wzięto pod uwagę wyrazy określające głowę i następujące jej części: oczy, nos, uszy, szczękę, wargi, usta, zęby, włosy. Jak wykazała analiza, sposób opisywania spetryfikowanych form wskazuje na modelowy wzorzec nominacji człowieka na podstawie jego charakterystycznych cech wyglądu, zarówno w języku polskim jak i niemieckim. Wartość ekspresywna tego typu nazwisk zależna jest od konotacji, jakie wywołują ich apelatywne znaczenia w świadomości odbiorcy.

The article scrutinizes linguistic and cultural image of the human body, limited to the lexeme ‘head’ and shown in the light of Polish and German names extracted from existing anthroponymic lexicons. As the analysis showed, the method of describing petrified forms points to a model of human nomination based on characteristic features of human appearance, both in Polish and German. The expressive value of these types of surnames depends on the connotations that their appellative meanings trigger in the recipient’s mind. They will be associated with the description of the head and parts of it, which consists of information concerning its size, shape and colour. The face, which is at the front, is a representative part of the person and thus it is subject to the most comprehensive view, which is evident in the richness of the onymic material presented.
