Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie podstawowych założeń europejskiej polityki transportowej, z zaakcentowaniem tych, które w zasadniczy sposób odnoszą się do zapewnienia dogodnych warunków dla rozwoju transportu zintegrowanego, jako warunku rozwoju zrównoważonego. W artykule wskazano potrzeby i główne trudności jakie spowalniają rozwój tego transportu w Polsce. Podkreślono ponadto, że polityka Unii Europejskiej, wyraźnie określa cele i okresy czasowe, które stanowią granice prac legislacyjno-wykonawczych, efektem których ma być drastyczne ograniczenie emisji gazów cieplarnianych, a to stanowi ogromne wyzwanie dla transportu.

The aim of this article is to introduce the basic assumptions of the European transport policy, with emphasis on those that relate fundamentally to the creation of convinient conditions for the development of an integrated transport as a condition for sustainable development. The article pointed out the need and the main difficulties which slow down the development of this form of transport in Poland. The author emphasized that the policy of the European Union, defines clearly the objectives and time periods for legislative and executive work. The effect of this will be a drastic reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, which is a huge challenge for transport.

This paper discusses the legal framework of electromobility in the European Union, including Directive 2014/94/EU. The main issues implementing this directive into Polish legislation were discussed (for example, Dz. U. z 2018 r., poz. 317). The Additional European Parliament recommendations included in the resolution of 25 October 2018 were also presented. The second part of the article contains information on electromobility in road transport, for example, the number of new vehicles registered in 2018 according to types of fuel. In addition, the main goals of the AFI directive for maritime and inland transport were presented, together with examples of innovative solutions that meet the major objectives of electromobility and sustainable development.

11 czerwca 2015 roku, w dniu rozpoczęcia 6 edycji Wrocław Global Forum, konferencji poświęconej między innymi sytuacji polityczno-biznesowej w Europie, firmy Volvo Polska i 3M zorganizowały spotkanie biznesowe pt. „Innowacje dla zrównoważonego transportu w miastach przyszłości”. Niskoemisyjne autobusy produkowane przez Volvo i rozwiązania firmy 3M dla motoryzacji to odpowiedź na rosnące zainteresowanie problematyką zrównoważonego transportu miejskiego. Zaliczyć do nich można autobusy hybrydowe, hybrydowo-elektryczne i najnowszy produkt – autobus elektryczny zaprezentowany podczas targów UITP w Mediolanie.
