Decision about joining "electronic economy" has become one of the most important issues in strategy of enterprise development. In the article are presented different ways of Internet usage in company activities with its advantages and requirements. Moreover, concerning variety of these ways, there is a suggestion of using AHP method to choose the most appropriate variant which is the most adequate to manager's preferences. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) allows to create a final ranking for a discrete set of decision variants on the basis of an earlier pairwise comparison of all the criteria and all the decision variants within each criterion. The properties of the obtained ranking depend on the quality of pairwise comparisons; this quality can be evaluated on the basis of consistency measured by means of certain measures. The paper discusses a mathematical model which is the foundation of the AHP and a starting point for a new method which allows to significantly reduce – and even eliminate – the inconsistency of pairwise comparisons measured by the consistency index. The proposed method allows to reduce the consistency index well below the threshold of 0.1.

A new fuzzy measure is presented in this paper. Using the assumption that the decision maker is able to provide the pairwise additivity degree between attributes, our method uses Zimmerman’s approach to solve the fuzzy multiobjective problem: a simple problem for computing fuzzy density is derived. Having done that, we use this new fuzzy measure to implement an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with dependent attributes using the Choquet integral. Our identification procedure for fuzzy density is much easier because it reduces the resolution complexity using a linear programming problem rather than the complicated power form used traditionally.

A system exists which meets a prescription of the efficacious multiple criteria decision making support methodology. It is called the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The consistency control of human pairwise judgments about their preferences towards alternative choices appears to be the crucial issue in this concept. This research examines the efficiency of a recently proposed consistency index grounded on the redefined idea of triads inconsistency within Pairwise Comparison Matrices. The quality of the recently introduced proposal is studied and compared to other ideas with application of Monte Carlo simulations coded and run in Wolfram Mathematica 8.0.

The study describes the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) proposed by Saaly. This procedure can have a wide application to weight coefficients determination. Advantages, disadvantages and limitations of the method utilization have been submitted. Finally, the extended, authentic example of AHP application has been presented. The weight coefficients for variables that have an effect on the ranking of universities and higher education schools have been determined with the use of both "classical" questionnaire and AHP. Let us consider a problem of valuation of agricultural real estate. It is important to properly indentify their market value, which is determined by many factors. A detailed set of data on the properties that were the subject of the transaction is needed to accomplish this task. It is quite confusing in the case of agricultural land because the number of transactions in the local market is often not sufficient. The purpose of this paper is to present some method for multicriteria valuation of agriculture real estate. This technique is specifically created for situation in which limited information are available. It is a combination in valuation field of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Goal Programming (GP). (original abstract)

The article deals with the production and marketing decisions concerning the choice of one of the possible products introduced to the market by a company. It discusses the importance of particular criteria of decision making when it comes to introducing a new product to the market. In the article the following criteria of analysis were taken into account: the time spent on creating the model of a marketing product (i.e. a pattern, a recipe), of a production, a financial and a market elements. The analysis of the decision-makers’ preferences was carried out with the help of a chosen multi-criteria method: Analytic Hierarchy Process. The basis of the analysis in this article in one of the enterprises in administrative’ division into by Lesser-Poland province (Małopolska provinces) localized. The principles of analysis presented in this article are of utilitarian nature because of the possibility of a relatively easy way of implementing them in the work undertaken by the marketing departments or in the task marketing chosen for a given product, treating this article as an example. W pracy podkreślono możliwość wykorzystania opinii ekspertów, którzy nadali znaczenie (określili ważność) elementów decyzyjnych poprzez porównanie elementów parami, pozwalając na identyfikację czynników oraz ocenę ich wpływu na wzrost wielkości produkcji. The article shows the practical application of the Analytic Network Process in solving decision problems from the field of management. The ANP Model proposed in this paper includes all kinds of dependencies and feedback between decision-making elements in the area of manufacturing management, reflecting the complexity of the problem and actual compounds that occur both between the agents within the company as well as in its surroundings. The paper emphasises the possibility of using experts' opinion, who gave importance (specifying the validity) of decision-making elements using pairwise comparisons, allowing the identification of factors and the evaluation of their impact on the increase in the volume of production. Celem artykułu jest ocena możliwości redukcji niepewności w polityce turystycznej. Jako weryfikaty hipotezy zakładającej użyteczność zmodyfikowanej wersji metody Analitycznego Procesu Hierarchicznego (Analytic Hierarchy Process - AHP) i reguły 80-20 Pareta do wskazanego celu, wykorzystano analizę literatury oraz wyniki badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych przez autora (w odniesieniu do polityki turystycznej realizowanej na poziomie lokalnym), w Rymanowie Zdroju. W artykule dokonano analizy samego pojęcia oraz źródeł niepewności, a rezultaty tych dociekań odniesiono do szeroko pojętej sfery turystyki, wskazując w niej podstawowe obszary niepewności oraz sposoby jej redukcji. W części empirycznej zaprezentowano nowe podejście do generowania alternatyw strategii konkurowania obszaru recepcji turystycznej.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The aim of the article is the assessment of the possibility of tourism policy uncertainty reduction. The hypothesis was adopted that the use of modified version of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and Pareto rule can decrease the uncertainty in tourism policy. A deduction based on literature analysis and Rymanów Zdrój local level survey outcomes were used to test the hypothesis. The concept of uncertainty and its sources were analysed. Conclusions were related to tourism. Tourism policy uncertainty areas and means of that uncertainty reduction were specified. In the empirical part a new approach to generate destination competitive strategy options was presented.(original abstract)

The main aim of this paper is to present the possibilities to take into consideration non-comparability criteria in the procedure of multi-criteria decision support using AHP method. The work concerns the application of multi-criteria methods for the evaluation of investment projects associated with excavation in hard coal mine. The inclusion of non-comparability criteria is associated with the safety aspects of work (existing threats). The issues dealt with in the work are a consequence of the investment life cycle analysis evaluation and the use of the concept of risk dominance for the decision support.

An ability to generate consistent results is the most critical operational feature of every method. The objective of the present paper was to demonstrate the results of the study conducted within the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Grant NN111345138 (Methodology of multicriteria comparative analysis of elements), regarding the relationship between the level of inconsistency of the AHP results, measured by Consistency Ratio (CR), and number of the compared criteria. Experiment involved analysis of 3-8 characteristics of selected objects (laptop, printer, public transport, mobile phone, flat and food store). The results showed that the analysis of as few as 3 characteristics resulted in a very high fraction of inconsistent opinions (more than 50%). In case of 6,7 and 8 characteristics this fraction exceeded 80%. (original abstract)

The aim of the work is the presentation of the benefits from move Poland into European Union. This article to develop a new approach to problem with AHP as a separate category in a form of a single multicriteria model consisting of various works on the subject benefits and costs move Poland into EU with the author s own concept. The model describes weighting of each beneficial f actor through their comparison along T.L. Saaty's fondamenta! scale and assigning number priorities to them (weights). As a result of hierarchical process analysis the four "benefits models " were developed. We choose the benefits model that has the highest global priority. Quality is usually a critical concern for most manufacturers while purchasing. The need for high-quality suppliers has always been an important issue for many manufacturing organizations. The purchasing function directly affects the competitive ability of a firm. Purchasing managers need to periodically evaluate supplier performance in order to retain those suppliers who meet their requirements. Four attributes are frequently used as performance criteria. These attributes are quality, prompt delivery, price and service. An evaluation and selection system of suppliers using Taguchi loss functions is proposed in this paper based on these four attributes. These four attributes are transferred to Taguchi quality loss which will measure suppliers' effectiveness using AHP method (Analytical Hierarchy Process) in order to determine the weights for selecting and evaluating suppliers. An example of supplier evaluation and selection is also presented to demonstrate the functional application of the model. (original abstract)

The paper presents a modeling approach for productivity comparison of Central European firms. The approach is based on Data Envelopment Analysis and Analytic Network Process. The proposed model consists of two basic parts. The first one estimates the importance of branches within the countries and the second one evaluates the performance of the firms within branches. The results of both parts are synthesized and the productivity of the countries is estimated. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a multicriteria decision support method created by Thomas L. Saaty. It provides both individual and group decision makers an objective way for reaching an optimal decision. The AHP is designed to select the best from a number of alternatives evaluated with respect to several criteria. It is taken by carrying out pairwise comparison judgements which are used to develop overall priorities for ranking the alternatives. This method allows for some level of inconsistency in judgements (that is unavoidable in practice) and provides some measures for limiting that. Our article describes classical Saaty solution to the AHP problem and shows the application of the AHP in establishing the price of the bank deposits. (original abstract)

The economic and political decision-making determines the need to develop and disseminate knowledge on the management of space and the principles and methods of property valuation. Property valuation is carried out according to certain rules of analysis to estimate the value of the property. It is one of the instruments use in real estate, whose primary function is to provide information. The article aims is to present the concept of a tool supporting the process of property valuation. The proposed solution will use multi-criteria analysis techniques, and in the future use of elements of artificial intelligence. More often, the valuation results are an important argument in making decisions about global dimension. That's why it is so important the research that concern on harmonization of existing concepts and principles of property valuation and developing new methods of property valuation. Easy access to mortgage loans is essential for efficiency of real-estate market, and especially residential properties market. As the offer of the bank sector is abundant, so the selection of a loan satisfying the requirements of a borrower is not easy. Proposals of banks differ in interest rate, maximal length of repayment period, ways in which the repayment of a credit can be guaranteed, and the requirements for the mortgage insurance. The main goal of this work is to present how multicriteria methods can be used in mortgage loan selection. The problem of a borrower is formulated as a discrete multicriteria decision making problem. Proposals of eight banks operating on a local market are analyzed. A hierarchical structure of criteria considered in the problem is presented, and a solution of the problem using Analytical Hierarchy Process is proposed. (original abstract)

W artykule skoncentrowano się na ukazaniu praktycznych aspektów prowadzonych badań naukowo-inżynierskich związanych z integracją metody AHP i ELECTRE TRI w informatycznym systemie wspomagania decyzji. W architekturze systemu DSS ujęto algorytmy obu metod. Działają one na wspólnym zbiorze obiektów (wariantów decyzyjnych), które można uporządkować (AHP) oraz przydzielić do zdefiniowanych grup (ELECTRE TRI). The article is a continuation of research that includes the review and functional analysis of quantitative methods within MCDA for designing needs of an information system supporting decisions (the article was published in a previous edition of the Magazine as part I). The aim of the part II is to show practical aspects of conducted research connected with integration of AHP and ELECTRE TRI methods with their application. Research was conducted in a form of studies over decision solutions that were conducted with the use of prepared system of DSS class (prototype version DSS 2.0).
