Content available remote APM transport system concept for CPK terminals

The present article refers to selected challenges related to the need to ensure passenger transfer between terminals in the context of the planned construction of the Central Communication Port (CPK). The authors present the concept of using the modern public transport solution Innovia APM 300 as a potential automatic transport system for CPK airport terminals. The article presents Bombardier's product – Innovia APM 300 system, its characteristics, aspects relevant for development, and its components. The solution proposal was based on the example of the APM system, implemented at Munich airport. In this article, the structure of the line connecting the main terminal and the satellite terminal is proposed, the analysis is made in terms of transport needs, rules of traffic organization are proposed, and other aspects necessary for system planning are indicated. The article briefly outlines the legal status for the approval of the system in Polish conditions.

Niniejszy artykuł odnosi się do wybranych wyzwań związanych z potrzebą zapewnienia transferu pasażerów pomiędzy terminalami w kontekście planowanej budowy Centralnego Portu Komunikacyjnego (CPK). Autorzy prezentują koncepcję zastosowania nowoczesnego rozwiązania transportu publicznego Innovia APM 300, jako potencjalnego automatycznego systemu transportowego dla terminali lotniska CPK. W artykule przedstawiono produkt firmy Bombardier – system Innovia APM 300, jego cechy charakterystyczne, aspekty istotne z punktu widzenia projektowania oraz jego komponenty. Propozycję rozwiązania oparto o przykład systemu APM, zaimplementowanego na lotnisku w Monachium. W artykule zaproponowano strukturę linii łączącej terminal główny i satelitarny, dokonano analizy pod kątem potrzeb transportowych, zaproponowano zasady organizacji ruchu oraz wskazano na inne aspekty istotne z punktu widzenia planowania systemu. W artykule nakreślono pokrótce stan prawny dla dopuszczenia systemu w warunkach polskich.

Characterization of null splitting measurements obtained from nine broadband stations from the northeast Indian region using core-refracted seismic phases suggests a better understanding of the geometry and strength of anisotropy of the medium and solves the critical aspects of these null splitting effects in this highly anisotropic area. The null splitting results establish a certain connection with their azimuthal origins and emphasize upon the large and complex tectonic forces as major sources to control the deformation patterns and null effects of this region. Though in majority of the studies, the null measurements are not emphasized or neglected for discussion, their proper distribution and interpretation suggests a better understanding of the geometry, strength and distribution of the heterogeneity. The present study emphasizes only on the null characteristics of the northeast Indian region and solves their dependency on the back azimuthal distribution of events, source polarization and fast/slow axis of rotation, to decipher a particular function with each other. This study allows recognizing and characterizing the nulls according to their origin and focuses on their relations with the reliable splitting measurements from the same region of study. This helps in obtaining a better understanding of the occurrence of null splitting and clear geometry of heterogeneity for this region. Apart from the azimuthal distribution, the presence of complex geological features, collision tectonics, lithospheric strains, absolute plate motion related asthenosphere drag and fossil vertical lineation of olivine, play major roles in creation of unstable layers of settings beneath the northeast Indian region leading to null measurements.

Nawiązano do prac statutowych prowadzonych w Instytucie Łączności. Scharakteryzowano mechanizm transportowy aplikacji APM, stanowiący uniwersalne rozszerzenie protokołu części użytkownika ISDN (ISUP) systemu sygnalizacji CCITT nr 7 (SS7). Opisano zasady działania mechanizmu, umożliwiające przesyłanie w wiadomościach protokołu ISUP informacji sygnalizacyjnych dotyczących aplikacji, zaimplementowanych w centralach publicznych sieci ISDN, bez konieczności naruszania struktury tego protokołu. Podano przykłady standardowych zastosowań mechanizmu APM (wg standardów opracowanych przez ITU-T i ETSI). Wskazano, że mechanizm APM znajduje zastosowanie zarówno w dotychczasowych wąskopasmowych sieciach ISDN (N-ISDN), jak i w szerokopasmowych sieciach ISDN (B-ISDN) oraz w sieciach nowej generacji, złożonych z sieci lokalnych i szerokopasmowej sieci szkieletowej, wykorzystującej różne techniki transmisji (ATM/IP/...).

Statutory projects developed by the National Institute of Telecommunications have been referred to. The transport mechanism of the APM application that represents an universal extension of the ISDN (ISUP) user part protocol of the CCITT No 7 (SS7) signalling system has been characterised. The operational principles of the mechanism that enable it for the signalling information concerning the applications implemented in the ISDN network public exchanges to be transmitted in the ISUP protocol messages without having to disturb the structure of such protocol. Some standard applications of the APM mechanism (according to the standards developed by ITU-T and ETSI) have been shown. It has been pointed out that the APM mechanism can be employed both in the existing ISDN (N-ISDN) narrow-band networks and in the ISDN (B-ISDN) broadband networks as well as in the new generation networks composed of local networks and a broadband backbone network where various (ATM/IP/... ) transmission techniques are applied.

W artykule opisano pojęcie e-commerce oraz najczęściej spotykane formuły handlu elektronicznego działające na rynku. Przedstawiono analizy statystyczne: czynników motywujących do robienia zakupów, form dostaw i inne. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych analizy okazało się, że coraz większym zaufaniem klientów cieszą się zakupy z wykorzystaniem paczkomatów. Wśród wad tej formy działalności znalazły się brak paczkomatów w dogodnej dla klienta lokalizacji. W dalszej części artykułu przedstawiono zagadnienia dotyczące lokalizacji, w tym: podział metod lokalizacyjnych, metod oceny wielokryterialnej. Zaproponowano zbiór ograniczeń dotyczących lokalizacji paczkomatów oraz kryteria oceny.

The paper describes e-commerce concept and the most common forms of it at the market. Statistical analyses: shopping motivating factors, supply strategies, and others are presented. The analysis has shown that consumers are more and more interested in shopping with use of APM. The lack of APM in a convenient location for the client is the main disadvantage of that shopping form. The paper also presents issues related to location problems, including the division of location methods and methods for multi-criteria evaluation. A set of constraints for location APM and criteria for its evaluation were proposed.

Duża uwaga skierowana jest na systemy APM & ATS (Automated People Movers & Automated Transit Systems). Uwzględnione są przy tym tzw. "czyste technologie". Praca bazuje na wynikach projektu ECO-Mobilność. Ze względu na szerokość problemu oraz ograniczony zakres artykułu praca stanowi ograniczoną, subiektywną wypowiedź koordynatora wspomnianego projektu dotyczącą problemów Eco-Mobilności.

The work analyses present problems of the widely understood mobility, with particular reference to the mobility realized with the utilization of innovative resources and forwarding systems. The large attention directed is on systems APM & ATS (Automated People Movers & Automated Transit Systems). Taken into account are at this so called "clean technologies". The work bases herself on performance of the project ECO-the Mobility. For the width of the problem and the limited range of the article the work to the state the subjective statement of the coordinator of the remembered project.

The paper presents the issue of modelling the system of the PRT vehicle – track. The PRT – Personal Rapid Transit concept is defined as an innovative transport system composed of small vehicles (3–5 persons) moving on the light infrastructure situated at a height of above 5 meters above the ground. This is a system that combines the features of individual and public transport. An important feature of this system is the implementation of the transport approach known as the ‘point to point’ rule that is to say between the initial and the final stop the vehicle does not stop at the intermediate stops. The vehicle has no driver. Routing choice and collision avoidance are performed through a complex computer system.

W artykule omówiono układ przestrzenny, organizację oraz niektóre rozwiązania techniczne, zastosowane w najnowocześniejszych terminalach kontenerowych portu Rotterdam, w tym w terminalu Euromax, ECT Delta, RWG i APM. Terminale te, położone na nowo zalądowionym obszarze Maasvlakte II, przedstawiają całkowicie odmienną koncepcję funkcjonowania niż rozwiązania stosowane dotychczas. Analiza ich budowy może pozwolić na wysunięcie wniosków odnośnie do potencjalnych kierunków rozwoju polskich terminali kontenerowych.

As a result of growth of the geometric parameters and the capacity of container vessels, the surface of land required for storage of containers increased significantly. At the same time, with the increasing ship-to-shore gantry cranes’ efficiency, a demand for a number of berths in container terminals decreased. The consequence of these changes was a new concept of building container terminals – vast port areas, located on entirely new land, having the depths sufficient to serve the world’s biggest container ships. This article discusses some spatial, technical and organizational aspects of "going towards the sea", while constructing modern container terminals in the port of Rotterdam (terminal Euromax ECT, RWG, and APM).

In recent years project management has become a complex and diverse field of scientific research. It embodies a number of specific tools and techniques, choice of which to particular project is far from being obvious, especially for the beginners. Such situation rationalizes efforts aiming at the development of methods of training, which are more efficient than the “trial-and-error” approach. In this context the paper presents a web application that simulates real life scenarios and allows for developing skills, among others, in identifying the needed/available resources against the dynamically changing goals. The platform teaches the agile approach to project management with Scrum and gives an opportunity to “materialize” the progress made by users with an original piece of software. The prototype of the web application has been successfully tested at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University.

Background: Monitoring systems decouple monitoring functionality from application and infrastructure layers and provide a set of tools that can invoke operations on the application to be monitored. Objectives: Our monitoring system is a powerful yet agile solution that is able to online observe and manipulate SOA (Service-oriented Architecture) applications. The basic monitoring functionality is implemented via lightweight components inserted into SOA frameworks thereby keeping the monitoring impact minimal. Methods/Approach: Our solution is software that hides the complexity of SOA applications being monitored via an architecture where its designated components deal with specific SOA aspects such as distribution and communication. Results: We implement an application-level and end-to-end monitoring with the end user experience in focus. Our tools are connected to a single monitoring system which provides consistent operations, resolves concurrent requests, and abstracts away the underlying mechanisms that cater for the SOA paradigm. Conclusions: Due to its flexible architecture and design our monitoring tools are capable of monitoring SOA application in Cloud environments without significant modifications. In comparisons with related systems we proved that our agile approaches are the areas where our monitoring system excels

The progressive collapse phenomenon refers to a chain of damages in a structure where all or a large part of the structure is destroyed by an initial local collapse in it, which can lead to very disastrous results. Therefore, the prevention of progressive collapse has become a necessary action in the design and analysis of buildings and it is vital to investigate this topic more accurately. This study aims to present a proposed pattern in the configuration of braces at the height of a high-rise steel building for reducing the probability of progressive collapse. In this regard, the vertical displacement of 18-story structure with four scenarios of column removal and five concentric bracing patterns including V, Inverted V, X, discontinuous X-bracing at height, and a combination of Xbracing in the side spans and discontinuous X-bracing at height in the middle spans are investigated and compared. In this study, the Alternative Path Method (APM) is used based on the GSA guideline for the analysis of progressive collapse. The results of this research showed that the use of X-bracing in the side spans and discontinuous X-bracing in the middle spans in nonlinear static and dynamic analyses performed better in reducing the probability of progressive collapse than other bracing configurations. Finally, it is recommended to use discontinuous X-bracing at the height that would place the bracings in one direction and providing alternative paths for force transferring in the structure.
