Anna Szóstak’s paper is devoted to issues of time in the works of the artists in the context of the experience brought by maturity and old age perspective, which in each case is related to the biography covering several decades of life. The key issue here is the perception of time as a category which belongs not only to the realm of matter and laws of physics, and considering time in the aspects that go beyond the determinism of nature and order to treat it as a philosophical, cultural and ideological issue. This overview leads to the conclusion that in this poetry passing is an area excluded, at least to some extent, from the jurisdiction of Logos, comprised within consciousness, memory and imagination, especially mystical imagination, and secondly, it comes to the search for answers to fundamental questions about the purpose and meaning of existence, and hence – the active desire to know the essence of existence and the role of the temporal element in its material, sensual, metaphysical and transcendent dimensions.
