This contribution deals with problem of modeling and solving non-linear tasks in the field of design of engineering structures. It is available to obtain the knowledge base of load-bearing systems static and stress-strain characteristics from expensive and timeconsuming experimental tests that are performed either on the testing devices or using numerical modelling. The potential of the second mentioned approach is shown on a finite-element model of reinforced concrete tunnel arc performed in ATENA software. For purpose of the analysis, the structure was modelled considering geometric non-linearity and non-linear material behavior. The passive resistance of surrounding soil is applied.
