The dynamic loads acting on passengers during road accidents depend not only on the vehicle structure, but also on the properties of the applied passenger and driver protection system. Two-point seat belts are the most frequently used personal protection system for adult passengers in bus vehicles. The paper investigates the thread of dynamic loads acting on the body of a 50 percentile dummy placed in an armchair equipped with two-point seat belts. In order to solve this problem, tests recorded with the Phantom v310 camera were used, the object of which was the Hybrid II 50th dummy, and the recording of the tests was carried out for three different collision speeds. The article presents the results of the crash tests obtained with the use of the TEMA Automotive program. Crash test analysis showing the displacement of the head and upper torso of the dummy located in the limited space between the bus-type seats indicates that standard seat belts do not provide sufficient protection. The article indicates the basis for further research and improvement of the personal protection system of passengers transported in minibuses and buses.

Road freight transport is one of the main modes of transporting goods in the European Union. This reality puts pressure on carriers to make every transport of goods fast, safe, cheap, and efficient. Based on these requirements, lorry drivers are often forced by their employers to break the current social legislation in the European Union and the rules of the road. Compared to the current social legislation in force in different parts of the world, the European Union rules on driving times, breaks and rest periods for drivers engaged in road haulage and passenger transport are the strictest. An important factor and reason of serious and fatal traffic accidents, extensive damage to goods or property in road freight transport is a driver. This article presents three different types of experiments that were carried out, and the results may help to improve the current situation. The main aim of this study was to verify whether the actual regulations are safe and suitable and compare the results of daily work of professional drivers in two different measurements. Last measurement was conducted with using Eye-tacking technology, which aimed to verify impact of experiences on the reaction times of drivers. The authors believe that the results of individual measurements can contribute to increasing safety in road freight transport with preparing future extended studies and proposing the possible changes of current regulation.

It has been proved by market reality that traditional brand management theories fail. Based on this, there is a need to provide critical revision of these theories with emphasis on behavioural approach of consumers. The most important is the task of consumer loyalty and its transposition into subjectively perceived brand value sources. So, the aim of this paper is to identify relevant brand value sources of loyalty which are significant for Slovak socio-cultural profile and to propose an effective innovative model of branding. The statistical evaluation of the data obtained from own questionnaire survey has been provided by the factor analysis supported by relevant tests. It has been found out that the fact of loyal relationship with brand affects the priority of the components of subjectively perceived brand value sources. The importance of brand value sources in case of consumer loyalty has been identified as following: 1) benefits; 2) attributes; 3) imageries and 4) attitudes while in case of consumer loyalty absence, the importance of brand value source is: 1) imageries; 2) attitudes; 3) benefits and 4) attributes. So, it can be concluded that existence of different brand value sources ranking in case of existence vs. absence of brand loyalty indicates need of selective approach towards brand value sources in the phase of brand value building and brand value managing. By doing this, traditional monistic concept of brand value building and managing has been interfered.

Zostało udowodnione przez rzeczywistość rynkową, że tradycyjne teorie zarządzania marką zawodzą. Na tej podstawie istnieje potrzeba zapewnienia krytycznej rewizji tych teorii z naciskiem na podejście behawioralne konsumentów. Najważniejszym jest zadanie transpozycji lojalności konsumentów na subiektywnie postrzegane źródeł wartości marki. Celem tego artykułu jest więc zidentyfikowanie odpowiednich źródeł lojalności wartości marki, które są istotne dla słowackiego profilu społeczno-kulturowego oraz zaproponowanie skutecznego innowacyjnego modelu brandingu. Ocenę statystyczną danych uzyskanych z własnych badań ankietowych dostarczyła analiza czynnikowa wsparta odpowiednimi testami. Stwierdzono, że fakt lojalnych relacji z marką wpływa na priorytet komponentów subiektywnie postrzeganych źródeł wartości marki. Znaczenie źródeł wartości marki w przypadku lojalności konsumentów zostało określone jako następujące: 1) korzyści; 2) atrybuty; 3) wyobrażenia i 4) postawy, podczas gdy w przypadku braku lojalności konsumentów, znaczenie źródła wartości marki to: 1) wyobrażenia; 2) postawy; 3) korzyści i 4) atrybuty. Można, zatem stwierdzić, że istnienie różnych rankingów źródeł wartości marki w przypadku istnienia przeciwieństwa braku lojalności wobec marki wskazuje na potrzebę selektywnego podejścia do źródeł wartości marki w fazie budowania wartości marki i zarządzania wartością marki. W ten sposób została zakłócona tradycyjna monistyczna koncepcja budowania wartości marki i zarządzania nią.

The influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in smart cities has resulted in enhanced efficiency, accessibility, and improved quality of life. However, this integration has brought forth new challenges, particularly concerning data security and privacy due to the widespread use of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The article aims to provide a classification of scientific research relating to artificial intelligence in smart city issues and to identify emerging directions of future research. A systematic literature review based on bibliometric analysis of Scopus and Web of Science databases was conducted for the study. Research query included TITLE-ABS-KEY (“smart city” AND “artificial intelligence”) in the case of Scopus and TS = (“smart city” AND “artificial intelligence”) in the case of the Web of Sciences database. For the purpose of the analysis, 3101 publication records were qualified. Based on bibliometric analysis, seven research areas were identified: safety, living, energy, mobility, health, pollution, and industry. Urban mobility has seen significant innovations through AI applications, such as autonomous vehicles (AVs), electric vehicles (EVs), and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), yet security concerns persist, necessitating further research in this area. AI’s impact extends to energy management and sustainability practices, demanding standardised regulations to guide future research in renewable energy adoption and developing integrated local energy systems. Additionally, AI’s applications in health, environmental management, and the industrial sector require further investigation to address data handling, privacy, security, and societal implications, ensuring responsible and sustainable digitisation in smart cities.
