During exploitation of pumps quite often the partial opening of joint is happened between a bonnet and sealing gasket. The technique of definition of the rational form of a surface of a socket of the pump is offered on the basis of alternative finite element analysis. The degree of disclosing of a joint is determined by results of the solving of a contact problem for the modified model of a bonnet and a sealing gasket. It is shown, that for a variant with an inclined surface of a socket, the zone of dense contact of a bonnet and a sealing gasket increases. The series of automated calculations for contact problem in finite-element definition is executed in the work. The rational corners of slopes for the bonnet joint surface are determined by the results of calculations. In this case opening of joint between the bonnet and gasket is minimum.
