The article was inspired by a project conducted by the author, whose aim was to present the issue of fair remuneration as a category of social protection in the context of economic realities. The purpose of the article was to show the existence of a possible correlation between the amount of the minimum wage and the percentage of people affected by various categories of poverty. The author analyzed the issue of minimum wage in Polish legislation and recalled the economic situation of the country since the accession to the European Union, and also presented the potential impact of minimum wages on the economy. He also referred to the issue of fair remuneration set out in the European Social Charter. The analyzed data allowed to show a decline in the poverty level in practically all categories, apart from statutory poverty. The current amount of the minimum wage in Poland, however, does not meet the standards of fair remuneration.

Artykuł został zainspirowany prowadzonym przez autora projektem, którego celem było przedstawienie kwestii godziwego wynagrodzenia jako kategorii ochrony socjalnej w kontekście realiów gospodarczych. Celem artykułu było wykazanie istnienia ewentualnej korelacji między kwotą minimalnego wynagrodzenia a odsetkiem osób dotkniętych różnymi kategoriami ubóstwa. Autor przeanalizował kwestię płacy minimalnej w polskim ustawodawstwie i przywołał sytuację gospodarczą kraju od momentu przystąpienia do Unii Europejskiej, a także przedstawił potencjalny wpływ płacy minimalnej na gospodarkę. Odniósł się również do kwestii godziwego wynagrodzenia określonego w Europejskiej Karcie Społecznej. Analizowane dane pozwoliły wykazać spadek poziomu ubóstwa praktycznie we wszystkich kategoriach, oprócz ustawowego ubóstwa. Obecna kwota płacy minimalnej w Polsce nie spełnia jednak standardów godziwego wynagrodzenia.

The authors of the article describe the impact of the International Labour Organization on the functioning of the labour markets – in Poland and elsewhere. Due to the changing realities of the world, Organization faces new challenges that require appropriate responses. Technological changes can result in significant adjustments in the economy that will leave many people out of the labour market. At the end of the paper, the authors present reform proposals regarding the quality of work and the functioning of the labour market. Although labour market indicators in Poland are constantly improving, but the attention is shifted to other aspects, for example from fighting unemployment to increased promoting labour force participation and employment.

Autorzy artykułu opisują wpływ działalności Międzynarodowej Organizacji Pracy (MOP) na funkcjonowanie rynku pracy. Jego wskaźniki w Polsce nieustannie się poprawiają, ale uwaga przenoszona jest na inne aspekty, przykładowo z bezrobocia na aktywność zawodową. Zmieniające się realia panujące na świecie stawiają jednak przed organizacją nowe wyzwania, które wymagają odpowiedniej reakcji. Zmiany technologiczne mogą spowodować wielkie zmiany, które pozostawią wiele osób poza rynkiem pracy. Autorzy na końcu artykułu przedstawiają propozycje reform dotyczące jakości pracy oraz funkcjonowania rynku pracy.
