The key factor in sustainable design is understanding the issue of sustainability. It is included in activities aiming at bringing back the proper level between the need of the goods of the civilization and between the ability of the Earth to provide the conditions to produce the goods and utilize the waste without destroying the Earth's ecosystem. The natural environment is being very strongly affected by the construction which uses big part of the Earth's natural resources at the same time causing natural degradation. That is why currently in architectural design as well as in the whole process of realizing the investment the key factors are: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Renewable and Rethink. They are supposed to be the tips to design a building which is understood not only as a form and function but also in the aspects of energy, water, waste, the green and communication.
There are many factors to be taken into account as far as the architecture of schools is concerned. In the psychological context, factors resulting from the influence of the architectural environment on the frame of mind and behavior of the people receive a special meaning. The influence process is ongoing, as the perception of the surrounding environment is not just limited to intellectual and sensual reception, but takes place at the much deeper levels of subconsciousness as well, so called "experiencing" of architecture. Based on the research regarding "experiencing" of school architecture by pupils, preformed by Christian Rittelmeyer, some basic regularities in reception of school environment by the pupils have been shown. The features of design conditioning positive reception of school buildings by children have been indicated.

Thanks to the applied innovative architectural, material and installation solutions, the project for an environmentally friendly small house was created, fulfilling both high energy standards and changeable housing needs.
