Information systems modeling has gone through meaningful evolution in which the significant place is occupied by information systems development methodologies: structured, soft, object oriented, and agile ones (Wrycza, 1999). At present the particular position in this field has been gained by UML (Unified Modeling Language), representing object-oriented paradigm. It became specific standard, a kind of lingua franca in software engineering (Wrycza, Marcinkowski i Wyrzykowski, 2005). The professionals interested and involved in systems engineering are gathered in 1NCOSE organization. They have made up decision of Unified Modeling Language adoption to their specific requirements and work standards, in this way the efforts and works for establishing new language - SysML, have been started. The joint project has been coordinated by three organizations: -OMG (Object Management Group), -INCOSE (International Council on System Engineering), -ISO (International Organization for Standardization). In result of the working groups efforts, the System Modeling Language SysML, adequate for system engineering needs was established. SysML is the modeling language of general use, serving specification, analysis, design and verification of the complex systems. Formally, its architecture was released in 2006 and then upgraded to version 1.1 in 2008. The aim of this paper is the presentation of the authors experiences in systems analysis, design and verification by use of SysML requirements diagrams. After Introduction, chapter 2 follows, which includes the general characteristics of the system engineering field. In the next chapter, the structure and content of SysML was outlined. The chapters 4 and 5 are succeedingly dedicated to system requirements and requirements diagrams of SysML. The last chapter regards presentation of the practical application of SysML requirements diagrams in respect of systems requirements for Internet bank.

The aim of the article is to present virtual campus model and case studies of various type virtual campuses as virtual organisations enabling to start and develop e-learning process at the particular colleges and their groups. The article consists of four parts. The first one presents the benefits of starting virtual campus concept. Part two is the presentation and evaluation of e-campus models called: College, Partnership, Concern and Portal. In the first part we present precise analysis of all four models prepared by the research groups participating in projects financed by the European Union. There is also the virtual campus concept integrated with the traditional education system and supporting mobility - bimodal with virtual mobility. The conditions concerning effective e-campus model implementation are presented in the third part of the article. The last part contains case studies related to the presented models, conditions and functional abilities. The article is based on the analysis of reports on virtual campuses prepared by the research groups founded by European Union and on analysis of existing e-campuses. The authors participated in building one of them - the Baltic Sea Virtual Campus (BSVC). The research of existing models and their implementation enabled the authors to create their own virtual campus model - a bimodal one with virtual mobility.

We wstępie artykułu wymieniono dziedziny zastosowań języka UML. Następny rozdział poświęcono prezentacji metodologii e-learningowego wspomagania nauczania języka UML w ramach przedmiotów, oferowanych przez Katedrę Informatyki Ekonomicznej. W kolejnym zaprezentowano wybrane elementy modelu wykorzystywanego przez Katedrę systemu elektronicznego egzaminowania, opracowanego z wykorzystaniem języka UML.

Unified Modeling Language became one of the most universal tools in information and business Systems analysis and design. Based on a very rich set of techniques, UML is continuously a great challenge for both information systems analysts and designers as well as teaching staff at various universities. In this paper, general presentation of UML 2.2 application domains at the University of Gdańsk was made. In Introduction, UML application domains were indicated. In section 2, methodology of e-learning support for UML teaching within the e-learning courses offered by the Department of Business Informatics was discussed. Selected components of the model of a digital examination system used by the Department, elaborated using UML, are presented in section 3. In the above sections the most important UML diagrams have been illustrated and exemplified. The article is concluded with a summary.
