Italian dialects occupy an important position in the history of Italian linguistics and are still present and relevant in the linguistic panorama of modern Italy. The purpose of this article is to outline the linguistic image of Italy by drawing attention to its dialects. Through analysis of the situation after unification in Italy in 1861, the author attempts to mark off functions and roles which dialects used to serve. In the second part of the article she concentrates on the phenomena of nuova dialettalità, or the new perspective and collocation of dialect in the Italian linguistic panorama of the 21st century. This article is a part of a research project dedicated to functions and uses of dialects in the Italian cinematography.

Celem niniejszego opracowania jest identyfikacja istniejących konfliktów przestrzennych w zakresie gospodarki przestrzennej. Prace studyjne i inwentaryzacyjne objęły analizę polityki planistycznej gmin, zwłaszcza w kontekście problemów ochrony środowiska i krajobrazu kulturowego. Głównym materiałem badawczym były wydane w latach 2007–2012 decyzje o warunkach zabudowy i lokalizacji inwestycji celu publicznego dla gmin powiatu trzebnickiego. Badania miały na celu podkreślenie istoty identyfikacji konfliktów przestrzennych oraz ich relacji do zaawansowania i jakości prac planistycznych. Prezentacja wyników badań ma formę analizy przypadków.

The aim of this study was to identify existing and potential spatial conflicts in spatial development policy. The study included inventory and analysis of the spatial plans adopted by municipalities, especially in the context of environmental problems and cultural landscape. Zoning decisions and those on the location of investment for public purposes were the main source of data. The research on spatial conflict was carried out in the municipalities of Trzebnica District in the years 2007–2012. The research highlighted the importance of identifying spatial conflicts and their relation to the stage of urban planning process and quality of planning documents. The research outcomes were presented in a format of case studies.

This article deals with the subject of spatial conflicts in metropolitan areas. It examines potential conflicts which are understood as a set of spatial and functional phenomena resulting from spatial planning policies carried out by local governments. The main aim of the research conducted as part of this article was to identify potential conflicts in spatial planning. The practical goal of this paper is to propose a method of identifying spatial conflicts and make recommendations for landscape policies and draw up planning studies on the local level. The choice of methodology was based on the assumption that spatial conflicts occur predominantly on the borders between various communes. The main research material were analyses of conditions and trends in spatial development planning.

Przedmiotem artykułu są potencjalne konflikty, rozumiane jako zespół zjawisk rozpatrywanych w kontekście przestrzenno-funkcjonalnym, które są wynikiem prowadzonej polityki przestrzennej na poziomie lokalnym. Głównym celem przeprowadzonych badań była identyfikacja najważniejszych potencjalnych konfliktów przestrzenno-funkcjonalnych na obszarze Wrocławskiego Obszaru Metropolitalnego. W pracy zaproponowano metodologię, która umożliwia zautomatyzowanie postępowania badawczego. Pozwoli to włączyć identyfikację konfliktów przestrzenno-funkcjonalnych do działań decyzyjnych w zakresie planowania przestrzennego jako element towarzyszący i uzupełniający.

The purpose of this study was to identify compatibilities of land-use patterns resulting from adjacent functions within the rural commune of Oleśnica. The analysis was made based on the relevant studies of conditions and directions of spatial planning, as well as a field inventory. The results of the studies show that the applicable planning document became a potential source of spatial conflicts. On these grounds, a negative assessment was given to the functioning spatial planning system, which, according to the premises of spatial order and sustainable development, should prevent them. The existing incompatibilities are the result of issues with coordination of the local spatial policies. As a consequence, they cause an urban development chaos, lack of proper space shaping, environmental damage and lower the residents‘ quality of life.

In this paper we attempt to quantify the impact of social capital on income. We follow Putnam’s [1995] approach and we construct a synthetic index for social capital using a multivariate probit model. Social capital is considered as one of the crucial individual endowments, next to physical and human capital. In a second step, we estimate the impact of the synthetically constructed social capital index on an individual’s income using a Mincer-type earnings equation. The results show that social capital explains up to 20% of income variation both at the individual and household level. However, human capital and physical capital remain the critical determinants of individual income.

The subject of this article is the accessibility of the centre of Wrocław for people with motor disabilities. The conducted study shows that facilities are very poorly accessible with numerous spatial barriers. Difficulties in public utility buildings and selected commercial facilities are indicated. Moreover, municipal activities undertaken for the benefit of persons with disabilities are examined.
