Content available remote The influence of thiuram on the mobility of heavy metals in soils
100%
EN
The work is a continuation of previous studies on the effect of thiuram on the mobility of heavy metals in soils. The introductory part of the work involved the analysis of properties of the soils used for the examination i.e.: the content of organic matter, acidity and mechanical properties. The content of lead, copper, manganese and zinc was determined in soils (IM HC1 extracts) free from additives and soils sprayed with thiuram after 3, 6, 9 and 12 weeks. The content of total metals was determined in mineralizates (soils without thiuram) obtained by a conventional method according to the ISO standards. The analysis showed that the soils used for the examination were not contaminated with any of the determined elements. The contents of Pb, Cu, Mn and Zn in soils with thiuram were different depending on metals and the time of contact of the soils with thiuram.

The aim of the present work was to establish the effect of dust from the EC4 power plant in Łódź on the content of heavy metals in soil. The results of determination of Pb, Zn, Cr, Co and Fe in the soil samples collected in the area of the city of Łódź presented in the work indicate that the main source of contamination with these metals are large industrial plants and heavy motor traffic. Power plant dust has no influence on the content of elements in the soil.

This work is a continuation of previous studies on the effects of fungicides on the uptake of trace elements by herbs [1, 2]. Copper, zinc and manganese content was determined in Valeriana officinalis grown in the soil free from additives and in the soil sprayed with thiuram. The content of bioavailable forms of these elements was established in pure soil and in the soil with fungicide addition. The introductory part of the work involves the analysis of the soil used for study (determination of organic matter content, pH, mechanical analysis, total content of Cu, Zn and Mn). The analysis showed that the soil used for the study was not contaminated with any of the examined elements.

Our work presents the results of the determination of bioavailable and total chromium (III) and chromium (VI) in the soil of an allotment garden situated in the center of Łódź. Chromium was determined by the spectrophotometric method in the form of a purple-red Cr (VI) complex with 1,5-diphenylcarbazide in the acid medium, following the establishment of the optimum amounts of the oxidant (ammonium peroxidisulphate (VI)) in the soil solutions. Moreover, the effects of iron and copper ions on the determination results were examined. For comparison, chromium was also determined by atomic absorption spectrometry.

The content of bioavailable copper(Il) in the soil of some allotment gardens was determined by the spectrophotometric method with tetraethylthiuram disulphide and AAS method with air/acetylene flame according to the Polish Standards. The influence of some heavy metals (Pb(Il), Hg(II), Cd(Il), Ni(II), Zn(II) and Fe(lII)) on determination of carrer by spectrophotometric method was examined. The results obtained by the both methods were compared.

Zawartość przyswajalnej miedzi(II) w glebie ogródków działkowych oznaczono zgodnie z Polską Normą metodami: spektrofotometryczną z disiarczkiem tetraetylotiuramu (dikupralem) i absorpcji atomowej z atomizacją w płomieniu powietrzno-acetylenowym. Zbadano wpływ wybranych metali ciężkich (Pb(II), Hg(II), Cd(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) i Fe(III)) na oznaczanie miedzi(II) metodą spektrofotometryczną. Porównano wyniki oznaczania miedzi(II) metodą spektrofotometryczną i AAS.

The contents of bioavailable forms of selected metals (Cd, Pb, Cu, Mn, Fe) in samples of soil from six allotment gardens in Łódź were determined. The total amounts of the metals in some kinds of ground vegetables (carrots, red beets, leeks) grown in these gardens were examined. The results obtained were compared to legal standards.

Oznaczono zawartość przyswajalnych form wybranych metali (Cd, Pb, Cu, Mn, Fe) w próbkach gleb z sześciu pracowniczych ogrodów działkowych w Łodzi. Wykonano analizę całkowitej zawartości wymienionych metali w kilku gatunkach warzyw gruntowych (marchew, buraki, pory), pobranych z tych ogrodów. Wyniki porównano z obowiązującymi normami.

Cadmium was determined in the soil of six allotment gardens of Lodz, situated in areas with different traffic patters (the centre of the city and its suburbs). It was determined in the form of cadmium (II) dithizonate by the extraction-spectrophotometric method.

This work presents the results of determination of lead in the soils of six allotment gardens located in different parts of the city (in the centre and on the outskirts). Lead was determined spectrophotometrically in the form of pink lead(II) ditizonate.

The present work is a continuation of our research on the content of heavy metals in the soil of allotment gardens located in the area of ód. It presents results of the determination of bioavailable and total iron in the soil collected in two allotment gardens in the city. Iron was determined spectrophotometrically in the form of red-pink complex of Fe(II) and 2,2'-dipyridine. The method of determination recommended by the Polish Standards has been modified by using hydroxylamine instead of glycin to reduce Fe(III) to Fe(II).
