Within the framework of the Marie Curie FP7-PEOPLE-2013-ITN program, the ALErT project targets on tectonic and climatic boundary conditions in the regions along the densely populated and the associated with natural hazards part of the Central Anatolian Plateau. The wide Central Anatolian Plateau (CAP) extends between the Aegean extensional and Bitlis /Zagros compressional zones. The Çankırı Basin was opened in central Anatolia during Late Cretaceous between the Kırşehir block in the south and Sakarya continents in the north. During the Neo-Tethys closure, the basin became a large intermontane basin covered with continental sedimentary environments (Kazancı et al. 1999). During the Late Miocene, there were different types of lacustrine environments between the northern and southern parts of this basin. Age evidence of the Çankırı Basin deposits has been obtained from the European mammalian faunal zones, because the Sr analysis results have not be significant to interpreted age (Mazzini 2015). To figure out the paleoenvironmental and palaeoclimate changes in Çankırı Basin biotic (palynology) and abiotic proxy data (geochemical, δ18O – δ13C isotopes analyses and CaCO3) were analysed. Fifteen samples from Hancili Formation, Tuglu Suleymanli crossing border, Bozkır Formation and Değim Formation were collected from claystone, dark silty clay, gypsum and breccia with silty gypsum layers in the Çankırı Basin. The samples were treated by standard palynological procedures described by Cour (1974). All pollen samples, residues, and slides are stored in Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. Each sample collected in the Çankırı Basin contains 150 pollen grains excluding Pinus . Pollen identification was performed under a Zeiss light microscope, and under a Quanta FEG250 Scanning electron microscope (SEM) used for high resolution imaging of pollen grains in Institute of Electrical Engineering Slovak Academy of Sciences. The pollen diagram was prepared with Tilia*-Graph (2.0) (http://www.chrono.qub.ac.uk/datah/tilia.html). According to Mosbrugger & Utescher (1997), coexistence approach derived quantative paleoclimate parameters. To explain the ecological characteristic, we used version of the Past 3.x – the Past of the Future free software scientific statistical data analysis program (http://folk.uio.no/ohammer/past/). Head map was prepared using program for four formations. The uplift during the Late Messinian in Çankırı Basin has been confirmed by palynological data and head map evaluation. We applied Xact 8 for the graphic presentation to show vegetation composition. We developed Steppe-Forest Index using a ratio of appropriate species of pollen (Traverse 1978), that serve as a climatic indicator (warm to cold), while interpreting aridity we follow Cour & Duzer (1978). As a consequence, the Poaceae/total Asteraceae ratio in a pollen diagram can be used as a climate index to find out dry to wet zones ines (Popescu 2006). It was calculated based on palynological results (using cluster analysis) to show that sections have four climate cycles with three dry periods. Based on those calculations, we confirmed long term cooling trend during the Late Messinian to the Plio-Pleistocene in Çankırı Basin. Most pollen spectra are mainly presented by Asteraceae, Chenopodiaceae, and Poaceae and by trees of Pinus, Cathaya, and Fagus. The group of herbs is important in the pollen spectra and mainly consists of Poaceae, Chenopodiaceae and Asteraceae, which document open grassland type of vegetation with warm – temperate climate.

Prestige, reputation, brand, image simply “enterprise goodwill” as an economic phenomenon has attracted attention of economic experts since the nineteenth century. Even though there are many various methodologies and approaches, its evaluation and quantification is still a challenge. Identification of key sources of goodwill creation and its management is the challenge for managers of enterprises. Which determinants are able to create enterprise goodwill - this question is the main aim in this study. This study identifies significant sources of the enterprise goodwill creation based on the residual income in the Slovak Republic. The data set of Slovak enterprises, which consists of 11483 financial statements of Slovak enterprises in 2016, was created for the research. As a main statistical method the multiple linear regression analysis is used. Based on the results we have identified return on equity, net income previous year, retained earning prior years, valuable rights, marketing costs and investments to the plant as key sources of enterprise goodwill creation. Additionally, we have created an econometric model, which could be used for evaluation of enterprise goodwill by companies’ management.

Bioparameters of selected herb species were studied on five control (undamaged) and five bark beetles damaged parallel plots established in form of two vertical transects in the spruce ecosystems of Bielovodska valley (High Tatra Mts.). The most abundant life forms in the studied phytocoenoses were hemicryptophytes (65%), the least abundant geophytes (5%). According to significance of differences in the average length of shoots the sensitivity of herb species to different ecological conditions and calamitous changes of the spruce stands density is a follows: Homogyne alpina > Luzula sylvatica = Dryopteris dilatata > Oxalis acetosella. According to significance of differences in energy content the sensitivity of species was following: Luzula sylvatica > Oxalis acetosella > Dryopteris dilatata > Homogyne alpina > Vaccinum myrtillus. However, the mean values calculated for undamaged and for damaged plots were significantly different (P<0.05) only in the case of weight of Luzula sylvatica shoots.

The best known and the the most important of Neanderthal sites in Slovakia is the travertine mound of Ganovce-Hradok (49°01' N 20° 19' E) with the sedimentary record from the Saalian termination up to the Holocene. A scientific research at the site was realized since 1880s, but the complex systematic research was realized only during 1955-1960, conditioned by the famous record of Neanderthal braincase in 1926. The research results have been published in the final report and within a monograph. The basic analysis of palaeontological findings of mammals was realized by Fejfar, who divided them into 6-7 groups, providing together with fossil molluscs (V. Lożek) and plants (V. Kneblova) a basic picture on both the climate and the palaeoenvironment in the vicinity of Ganovce during the formation of the travertine mound. Apart from remains of mammals, birds, and reptiles, the most important record at the site is represented by fossils of Neanderthal Man. The age of the place, where Neanderthal fossils have been found, was determined as 105,000 BP. The environment of Neanderthals was distinctly changed during the Late Pleistocene in the whole area of their occurrence because of severe climatic changes. Differences found in the composition of fossil assemblages reflect those in the terrestrial environment. Based on the definition of the taxonomical diversity of extinct organisms, the palaeoenvironmental reconstruction, and the exact age determination of the fossil record, a definition of individual events is possible from the evolutionary-phylogenetic and the climatic-environmental viewpoints.

Although the issue of corporate failure analysis is a hot topic for business research since the last century, even nowadays there are numerous researches focusing on assessing the financial health of companies. Within increasing internationalization and globalization the demand for bankruptcy prediction is important not only for owners of the companies, but also for other interested groups. We aim to test the validity of prediction models developed as partial results of our research project. Bankruptcy prediction models were constructed on the data set of Slovak companies covering the year 2015 and based on the various statistical methodologies. We provided the validity of these models and their prediction accuracy on the data set of Slovak companies covering the following year 2016.

Five deep wells (Pozba4, Pozba3, Dubnik1, Nová Vieska1, Modrany1), drilled in the Želiezovce depression of the south-east Danube Basin penetrate the Cenozoic sedimentary record in overall thickness ranging from 1000 m up to 3000 m. The total thickness gradually increases from South to the North. This area is well known for the complex geological structure related to the Central Western Carpathians and Transdanubian Range junction along the Hurbanovo – Diösjenö line. Many authors have studied this area in the past, nevertheless depositional systems, sedimentary cycles and the development of sedimentary facies were never understood in detail. The re-evaluation of biostratigraphy, paleoecology, sedimentology and the reinterpretation of e-logs were all incorporated into well correlations, what resulted in definition of four main sedimentary cycles: (1) the lowermost Oligocene cycle, consisting of mudstones with occasional sandstone intercalations, associated with slope to offshore marine environment. The age is supported by the presence of the NP 22 calcareous nannoplankton zone; (2) the transgressive Langhian (Lower Badenian) deposits, composed of mudstones with epiclastic volcanic material and tuffite beds were associated with nearshore to offshore environement. The age is supported by the NN4–NN5 calcareous nannoplankton zone; (3) the Serravallian (Upper Badenian-Sarmatian) cycle is composed mainly of mudstones with abundant Lithothamnium fragments associated with brackish, coastal pain environment. The age is confirmed by the NN6 calcareous nannoplankton zone and by the mass occurrence of fish scales and Ervilia dissita (Eichwald) bivalves; (4) the overlying strata represent the Tortonian-Pliocene (Pannonian-Pliocene) cycle. The strata consist mostly from claystone (lake environment) which is overlain by sandstone and siltstone layers (deltaic and alluvial plain environments). The Tortonian (Pannonian) age of the lowermost claystone is supported by finds of Dreissenidae bivalves. The Pliocene age is only inferred by superposition of the strata.
