In the food production, all the elements from the producer to the consumer must commit to excellence. Excellence in the food sector has a social dimension because all people are consumers of food. TMs paper attempts to examine the understanding of food quality and the role of excellence in food production. The study was conducted among students because of their age and the future social position may decide about the future, a common approach to this particular social problem. Students who taking part in the study, presented well thought out, logical and consistent with the natural human needs approach to food quality characteristics.

Problematyka dotycząca skutków funkcjonowania współczesnych agrokoncernów w Polsce jest dopiero rozpoznawana. Literatura zagraniczna wskazuje jednak jednoznacznie na wybitnie negatywny wpływ światowych koncernów żywnościowych na środowisko przyrodnicze i społeczne. Wzorem innych państw Unii Europejskiej, należy wypracować i wdrażać w Polsce inny model rozwoju rolnictwa i obszarów wiejskich.

The problems concerning the existence of agriconcerns in Poland has not been fully studied yet. However, foreign literature reports a negative effect of theworld food concerns on natural and social environment. Following the example of European Union countries, a different model of development of agriculture and rural areas should be worked out and put into practice in Poland.
